It was revealed the Justice Dept had been looking at the phone records of many Associated Press reporters and even had seized records from the Congressional cloakroom. Anyone that was giving the Associated Press inside information on the Obama administration’s malfeasance by phone has now been outed.

There has been relative silence on this coming from the House. Considering what happened to David Patraeus, could the Obama-Chicago-DOJ have the potential to blackmail House members during upcoming investigations?

Speculating on how this White House operates, I believe the IRS and AP scandals are just teasers designed to soften up the American people for when the real indiscretions are uncovered.

I have a hunch that a lot more is going to come out, frankly. It’s broader than the current focus. And I think it’s important that we have the hearings, and I think that will encourage other information to come out that has not yet come out. I suspect that we will learn more in the next several days, maybe the next couple three weeks which adds more context to all of this.

Of course, when the rotten meat is slowly unwrapped, the White House will claim that it’s all old news, is being egregiously politicized by Republicans, it’s Bush’s fault, and we should move on so the president can focus on creating jobs. Sound familiar?
