There was a grenade thrown amongs a group of American soldiers. One of the soldiers, feeling that it was to late for everyone to flee jumped on the grave with the intention of saving his comrades. Indeed he saved them. He inentionally took his life (suicide) for a noble cause i.e. saving the lives of his soldier. To say that this soldier committed suicide is inappropriate. Its more appropriate to say he is a brave hero that sacrificed his life for a more noble cause. Scholars have paralled this to suicide bombers whose intention, by sacrificing their lives, is to help save Muslims by killing enemy soldiers. If one suicide bomber can kill 100 enemy soldiers because they were caught off guard that would be considered a strategic victory. Their intention is not to die because of some despair. The same can be said for the Kamikazees in Japan. They died (via crashing their planes into ships) to kill the enemies for the homeland. You can call them crazy i you want but their act was not one of suicide that is despised by Islam. So the scholars main point is that “IT SEEMS AS THOUGH YOUR INTENTION IS THE MAIN ISSUE” and Allah (SWT) knows best.

Dunno about you, but I may have given the good major another look. Then again, I’m an intolerant, profiling conservative.

It’s official. The U.S. is no longer engaged in a “war on terrorism.” Neither is it fighting “jihadists” or in a “global war.”

“The President does not describe this as a ‘war on terrorism,’” said John Brennan, head of the White House homeland security office, who outlined a “new way of seeing” the fight against terrorism.

The only terminology that Mr. Brennan said the administration is using is that the U.S. is “at war with al Qaeda.”

At some point al Qaeda is expected to remove their use of the term “infidel” when referring to anyone not Muslim, as we all know their aim is to turn the world into an Islamic state, but not hurt our feelings in the process.

Gotta hand it to him, this guy is a master of gently twisting phrases to sound non-threatening when, in fact, they are 100% distorted and extremely dangerous. In Cairo today, Obama managed to distort both the Koran (nuthin’ “holy” about it) and the Holy Bible. (BTW, for the record, there really can only be one “holy” book. Either it’s the Koran or the Bible, but it can’t be both, because it’s God who determines what is holy, not man.) While the American left will give wowed, the radical Muslims who chant “Death to America” will never shed a tear of remorse, tolerance, and/or understanding.

Circuit) as especially dangerous, because he has a minimal paper trail, he is Latino, and the White House seems to be grooming him for a Supreme Court appointment. The same day Dick Cheney delivered a major speech on the battle against terrorism, a new national poll suggests that favorable opinions of the former vice president are on the rise.

Fifty-five percent of people questioned in the poll say they have an unfavorable opinion of the former vice president. Thirty-seven percent say they have a favorable opinion of Cheney, up eight points from January when he left office.

That must have pissed off a few at CNN.

Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld sent President George Bush top secret wartime memos with cover sheets that mixed Scripture and battle photos to cast the Iraq invasion as a holy Christian crusade.

Rumsfeld, not a man who wore religion on his sleeve, appeared to be trying to manipulate – or curry favor with – the Bible-quoting Bush, according to an explosive story in GQ.

Some Pentagon analysts worried that if the memo covers leaked, they would inflame the Islamic world, undercut Washington’s Arab allies and bolster those who claimed America was out to Christianize the Muslim world.

Then why report this, if not to further stomp on Rumsfeld’s damaged legacy, and further pile on President Bush. And who is leaking information about “top secret wartime memos with cover sheets”? Last I heard, that is a big time felony.

And is there a problem with Christianity inspiring freedom, considering Islam seems to inspire the opposite…?

Ottawa was rushing to defend its border security on Tuesday amid a diplomatic scuffle with the U.S., which erupted after Washington’s homeland security chief suggested that the 9-11 terrorists entered the U.S. through Canada.

U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano made the comments during a media interview earlier this week, much to the chagrin of Canadians on both sides of the border.

Great move, Madam Secretary. This too must be the whole reaching out and restoring our standing in the world thing.

The Central Intelligence Agency told CNSNews.com today that it stands by the assertion made in a May 30, 2005 Justice Department memo that the use of “enhanced techniques” of interrogation on al Qaeda leader Khalid Sheik Mohammed (KSM) — including the use of waterboarding — caused KSM to reveal information that allowed the U.S. government to thwart a planned attack on Los Angeles.

Before he was waterboarded, when KSM was asked about planned attacks on the United States, he ominously told his CIA interrogators, “Soon, you will know.”

So, let’s see all of the memos and find out how many more ungrateful, vengeful liberal lives have been saved thanks to the dilligence of the Bush Administration and CIA.

On Thursday, President Obama released memos that describe, in horrific detail, the torture techniques authorized by the Bush administration. The memos make clear that top Bush officials didn’t just condone torture—they encouraged it.

And all but one Congressional intelligence members approved those horrific techniques, and they’re hiding like pussies while MoveOn acts all righteous. But there are perils in going down this path….

So far there’s been no accountability for the architects of Bush’s torture program—the top officials who justified keeping detainees awake for 11 days straight, waterboarding them repeatedly, and forcing prisoners into coffin-like boxes with insects.

We need real consequences for those responsible—it’s the only way to keep this from happening again. Attorney General Holder can open an investigation into the torture program—but he most likely won’t unless people everywhere speak up and demand it.

Can you sign our petition to Attorney General Eric Holder asking him to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the torture program? If we can reach 200,000 signatures, we’ll deliver the petition to Holder by the end of the week.

Barack Obama has made mistakes and it’s still real early.

His supporters need remember that what you do sets precedent and can come back and bite you in the ass.

Let’s see if the president has the guts to take former Vice President Cheney’s challenge and release all of the memos, especially the part that shows how the information gathered via “torture” saved lives.

Maybe even the lives of MoveOn nation.

We may just have to wait a little longer for this campaign promise to kick in.

Barack Obama made an impassioned plea to America’s allies to send more troops to Afghanistan, warning that failure to do so would leave Europe vulnerable to more terrorist atrocities.

But though he continued to dazzle Europeans on his debut international tour, the Continent’s leaders turned their backs on the US President.

One incident by one, Barack Obama is now realizing how easy it was to talk ignorant, naïve shit on the campaign trail and how much more complicated the world really is.

Here’s a little reminder to all those anti-war protesters who want us to leave the poor Taliban alone.

Face down before a crowd, the teenage girl shrieks and writhes, begging for mercy. But the three masked men holding her down merely tighten their grip while a fourth man whips her again and again.

The video, shot with a cellphone, initially shows the girl, clad in an all-enveloping black burka, being held by men while another begins striking her. She can be heard shouting for help in the Pashto language, spoken by most people in Swat. She is then dragged to another location, held down and flogged. Several dozen people can be seen watching.

Since we’re not allowed to judge, there had to have been a good reason for publicly flogging this girl we’re not privy to.

“For God’s sake, please stop, stop it,” the girl pleads as the whip falls. “I am dying.” Off-camera, another militant gives orders: “Hold her feet tightly. Lift her burka a bit.”

A Taliban spokesman, Muslim Khan, defended the public lashing, saying the girl had engaged in immoral behavior, but did not specify.

Obviously as an infidel I don’t understand the nuances of Taliban custom, but as we have people in this country going to jail and sued for just saying the wrong thing to a woman, this kind of conduct should be considered a bit over the top.

Those who would leave the rescue of these young women to a United Nations peacekeeping force are fools, and the UN tends to join in when it comes to the sexual exploitation of young women. And let’s not forget, a recent Obama administration nominee thinks there are some aspects of Sharia Law that would be valuable here in America.

Maybe giving the Taliban a taste of their own medicine is something they had coming. Just an observation.

In a crushing blow to the freedom of speech worldwide, the United Nations Human Rights Council last Thursday approved a resolution calling upon member states to provide legal “protection against acts of hatred, discrimination, intimidation and coercion resulting from defamation of religions and incitement to religious hatred in general.”

In other words….

While the resolution speaks of religion in general, the proposal came from Pakistan and had the backing of the powerful 57-government Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), the UN’s largest voting bloc – so it was clear that Islam was the only religion the drafters of the resolution had in mind. This is underscored by the fact that Muslim states have worked energetically to make “Islamophobia” the focus of Durban II — the UN’s upcoming second World Conference on Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance. A draft declaration declares that “defamation of Islam” should be a criminal offense, even when it takes place under the “pretext” of “freedom of expression, counter terrorism or national security.”

In other words, if the OIC and the drafters of the Durban declaration get their way, any honest examination of how jihadists use Islamic texts and teachings to make recruits will be illegal. So not only does this herald the death of free speech, but it also leaves us mute and defenseless before the advancing global jihad.

The ramifications here in America are unclear, but if I were to write something that was critical of murderous thugs who may have just blown up a market, killing dozens of people (and were Muslims), would I be contacted by the United Nations and charged with a crime?

Would the United States, blowing off our First Amendment, attempt to enforce this new rule?

Very interesting times indeed.

The night before President Obama rolled out his Afghanistan plan, staffers for Reps. Barbara Lee, Maxine Waters and Lynn Woolsey met to come up with a common position. For two hours the staffers debated over how to respond to the initiative, but they were unable to come up with a position on Obama’s 4,000-troop increase that the troika of liberal California Democrats could agree on.

On Friday, after Obama laid out all the details of his plan, the staffs traded drafts of a joint statement. One version said the plan “raised more questions than it answers.” But because they couldn’t agree, it never went out.

It’s okay. They’re thinking about it…

A “relaxing, calm, beautiful place” may not be everyone’s description of Guantanamo Bay, but this was the opinion of reigning Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza of Venezuela, who visited the U.S. naval facility in eastern Cuba this month on a trip organized by the United Service Organizations (USO) which supports U.S. troops.

“It was a loooot of fun!,” Mendoza wrote, describing how she met U.S. military personnel and took rides around the camp, which is encircled by a barbed-wire fenced, minefields and watchtowers. She said they also visited a bar on the base and the “unbelievable” beach there.

“We visited the Detainees camps and we saw the jails, where they shower, how the(y) recreate themselves with movies, classes of art, books. It was very interesting,” she wrote. “I didn’t want to leave, it was such a relaxing place, so calm and beautiful,” she added.

I wonder how the terror detainees will react to being transferred from that human rights hell hole to… Virginia.

And I think it safe to say, Ms. Mendoza didn’t vote for McCain.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi traveled to Syria in 2007 despite a stern confidential memo from the Bush administration warning her she would be used by the renegade regime as a propaganda prop.

Today, Republicans say the trip was worthless, muddled Washington’s message to terrorist-supporting Damascus and did nothing to change President Bashar Assad’s support of U.S. adversaries Hizballah, Hamas and Iran.

The March 2007 memo came from the Pentagon unsolicited to Pelosi’s national security adviser and was unearthed this month by a Washington watchdog group.

While being second in the line to the presidency, the Syrians showed Pelosi the typical respect they have for most women over there: none. But as long as she felt she showed up President Bush, oh well….

The Obama administration has ordered an end to use of the phrase “Global War on Terror,” a label adopted by the Bush administration shortly after the September 11, 2001 attacks, the Washington Post reported on Tuesday.

In a memo sent this week from the Defense Department’s office of security to Pentagon staffers, members were told, “this administration prefers to avoid using the term ‘Long War’ or ‘Global War on Terror’ (GWOT.) Please use ‘Overseas Contingency Operation.’”

Critics have pleaded with the Obama administration to abandon the use of “Global War on Terror” because they say it mischaracterizes the nature of the enemy and its abilities.

As al Qaeda is based around the world, as are other international (hint) terror organizations, I would think the term “Global” would be accurate here, but what do I know? Many jihadists have openly declared a “holy war” on The Great Satan” (us), so I would think the term “war” would be accurate here, but as we haven’t formally declared “war” on a specific entity, they could be the administration’s out. Also, had President Obama kept his campaign promise, the “Long War” wouldn’t be currently escalating.

As the “direction” came from a “career civil servant” who wasn’t in an office inferno on the 70th floor of the World Trade Center, he or she probably doesn’t know what real “Terror” is.
