American officials agreed to send the two terrorists from Guantanamo to Saudi Arabia where they entered into an “art therapy rehabilitation program” and were set free, according to U.S. and Saudi officials.

Oh, and by the way… Fox News Sunday’s Chris Wallace repeated the false mainstream media talking point that Khalid Shaikh Mohammed (9/11 mastermind) was “waterboarded 183 times”.

U.S. and Pakistani authorities captured KSM on March 1, 2003 in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. KSM stayed mum for months, often answering questions with Koranic chants. Interrogators eventually waterboarded him — for just 90 seconds.

KSM “didn’t resist,” one CIA veteran said in the August 13 issue of The New Yorker. “He sang right away. He cracked real quick.” Another CIA official told ABC News: “KSM lasted the longest under water-boarding, about a minute and a half, but once he broke, it never had to be used again.”

Hopefully, the next time Mr. Wallace interviews someone with the stature of a former vice president, he does his homework first.

This scene was widely ridiculed by the left as a neocon wet dream. With that, name me one liberal who you’d feel comfortable with dealing with the ticking bomb scenario?

And as it turns out, guess who essentially agreed with the “immoral” techniques used in a fictional television program…?

So, when conservatives support the use of torture in order to save lives, it’s considered inhumane treatment. When a liberal like Bill Clinton supports its use, it’s important to national security.

President Obama has approved the creation of an elite team of interrogators to question key terrorism suspects, part of a broader effort to revamp U.S. policy on detention and interrogation, senior administration officials said Sunday.

Made up of experts from several intelligence and law enforcement agencies, the interrogation unit will be housed at the FBI but will be overseen by the National Security Council — shifting the center of gravity away from the CIA and giving the White House direct oversight.

Well, THAT’S reassuring.

North Korea wants the U.S. to show remorse for the actions of two American journalists convicted of illegally entering the country, and it might free the women if Washington does so, a scholar who visited Pyongyang said Saturday.

The comments by North Korean officials to University of Georgia political scientist Han S. Park came as analysts say the isolated communist regime intends to use the detention of Laura Ling and Euna Lee as bargaining chips in its ongoing standoff with Washington over the country’s nuclear and missile threats.

All it takes is a crying celebrity and the Obama administration foreign policy could go out the window.

Neoconservatives who have come to power in both the Democratic and Republican parties argue that the U.S. must ether confront every evil in every corner of the globe or risk danger at home. We need to “fight them over there” they say, so we don’t have to “fight them over here.” This argument presents a false choice. We do not have to pick between interventionism and vulnerability. The complexity of our world is exactly why the lessons of our past should ring true and demand a return to a traditional, pro-American foreign policy: one of nonintervention.

Responding to criticism from former President George W. Bush, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said President Obama’s victory last year was a repudiation of Bush’s policies.

In a speech this week, Bush came off the sidelines for the first time since the beginning of the Obama administration to lob criticisms at Obama for his economic policies and his decision to close the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Gibbs said Thursday that many of those policies were debated during last year’s election.

“We kept score last November, and we won,” Gibbs said.

Quotes have a funny way of being recycled and coming back full circle. Let’s see how the American people keep score in 2012 after four historic years of Barack Obama.

A CIA spokesman is sharply downplaying Director Leon Panetta ’s recent comments that appear to question whether former Vice President Dick Cheney is hoping for another terrorist attack against the United States.

“The Director does not believe the former Vice President wants an attack,”"He did not say that. He was simply expressing his profound disagreement with the assertion that President Obama’s security policies have made our country less safe. Nor did he question anyone’s motives.” CIA spokesman Paul Gimigliano said in a statement to CNN.

Now I don’t want to appear like I’m saying the CIA is intentionally misleading, but Panetta was quoted saying Vice President Cheney “smells some blood in the water on the national security issue” and added,

It’s almost, a little bit, gallows politics. When you read behind it, it’s almost as if he’s wishing that this country would be attacked again, in order to make his point.

Obviously, Panetta assumed the left would be doing cartwheels, showing him with praise for standing up to Dick Cheney. but with all due respect Director Panetta, that’s not your job. Your job is to lead the premiere agency tasked with keeping our nation safe; not just the president’s approval ratings.

Gotta hand it to him, this guy is a master of gently twisting phrases to sound non-threatening when, in fact, they are 100% distorted and extremely dangerous. In Cairo today, Obama managed to distort both the Koran (nuthin’ “holy” about it) and the Holy Bible. (BTW, for the record, there really can only be one “holy” book. Either it’s the Koran or the Bible, but it can’t be both, because it’s God who determines what is holy, not man.) Anyway, the Bamster proceeded to cite some phrase from the Koran saying it captured what Muslims believe.

While the American left will give wowed, the radical Muslims who chant “Death to America” will never shed a tear of remorse, tolerance, and/or understanding.

They’ll see Barack Obama, offering up a sleeping target on a silver platter, and they’ll seize their opportunity when the time is right.

On Thursday’s dueling Guantánamo “debate”…

President Obama’s been in the driver’s seat with the Congress up until now. But, Congress pretty much pulled him over to the side of the road on this issue. And until he comes up with a plan on how to close Guantanamo down, I think they’re going to continue to deny him the funds to do just that. Right now I think the Vice President has made his case. And at this point I’d have to say he’s winning.

After years of bashing Bush, Barack Obama’s own weak arguments (whenever he decides to give one) are weakening his case to the American people, and creating growing reasonable doubt. And once the press smells blood, this could be the comeuppance many of us have been waiting for.

AP: President Barack Obama sees his secretary of defense just about every day, but he still flubbed Robert Gates’ name on Thursday. Gates was in the crowd for Obama’s national security speech. Pointing him out, the president said “William Gates” was on hand. Perhaps Obama was thinking of Bill Gates, the Microsoft billionaire.

President Obama may be destroying the economy, but he does provide the unexpected comic relief the world was waiting for.

President Obama is reinstating the same deeply-flawed military commissions that in June 2008 he called an ‘enormous failure.’ In one swift move, Obama both backtracks on a major campaign promise to change the way the United States fights terrorism and undermines the nation’s core respect for the rule of law by sacrificing due process for political expediency.

Whatever revisions the Obama administration has made to the commissions do not change the fact that the commissions do not provide an adequate standard of justice for the detainees nor the victims of terrorism — they merely mock the U.S. Constitution, international laws and undermine fundamental human rights standards.

If Amnesty International can find a state that will house the detainees, maybe they can find a court that will hear their cases. I wonder if Amnesty International can convince the American people that giving terror suspects access to intelligence (discovery) won’t wind up being transferred to the enemy.

That’s a big IF.

My criticism of the manner in which the Bush Administration did not appropriately inform Congress is separate from my respect for those in the intelligence community who work to keep our country safe.

ABC News’ Rick Klein reports: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was briefed on the use of “enhanced interrogation techniques” on terrorist suspect Abu Zubaydah in September 2002, according to a report prepared by the Director of National Intelligence’s office and obtained by ABC News.

The report, submitted to the Senate Intelligence Committee and other Capitol Hill officials Wednesday, appears to contradict Pelosi’s statement last month that she was never told about the use of waterboarding or other special interrogation tactics. Instead, she has said, she was told only that the Bush administration had legal opinions that would have supported the use of such techniques.

As I said before, arrogance and overreaching will be the undoing of this present group of arrogant, overreaching Democrats.
