A dwarf prosecutor is suing a man she called as a witness in a court case – after he broke down laughing in court at her size. Silke Schoenfleisch-Backofen, 39, is a little lady with a big name, and an even greater sense of right and wrong.

Russian-German Wadim Golanev, 25, cracked up in hysterics at the ‘dwarf lady’ in court during a case about theft, she was decidedly unimpressed. Golanev was unable to answer her questions due to his hysterical laughter, pointing at her and singing ‘Hi Ho, Hi Ho!’ from Snow White And The Seven Dwarves.

Jessica Felber claimed in a lawsuit against the University of Berkeley that a leader of a pro-Palestinian group rammed her with a shopping cart as she staged a counter-protest to the anti-Israel “Apartheid Week” conducted by the Muslim Student Association and Students for Justice in Palestine in 2010. Felber and another Jewish student claimed the University did not do enough to prevent the harassment which included the Muslim group conducting checkpoints around the campus. Students were asked if they were Jewish while passing the checkpoints.

On Thursday U.S. District Judge Richard Seeborg said the harassment, even if true, constituted protected political speech and dismissed the case against the university.

Anyone want to see how ballistic CAIR gets should someone bump a Muslim with a shopping cart, or worse?

Can we disbar lawyers who threaten the courts on behalf of unruly punks?

Lawyers representing about 800 Occupy Wall Street protesters arrested in the past month demand that prosecutors drop the charges.

If not, they say they won’t deal and will insist on going to trial – putting pressure on the already overloaded Manhattan criminal courts.

Unless some evil rich sugar daddy intervenes, some of these Occupy punks won’t make bail, thus they’ll have to sit in a jail cell until their case comes up in one of those overloaded courts. That could take awhile.

It appears you can now be sued for telling a truth. A lyric by rapper Pitbull, “Hustlers move aside, so I’m tiptoein’, to keep flowin’. I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan” provoked the following response…

That could be a stretch as a sizable portion of the American public have neither heard of the rapper Pitbull or even knew Lohan was even working. And since she WAS locked up (more than once), this may just be a case of Lindsay having a pity party and only a lawyer showing up.

Hillsborough Circuit Judge Richard Nielsen is being attacked by conservative bloggers after he ruled in a lawsuit March 3 that, to resolve one crucial issue in the case, he will consult a different source.

Brett Favre is no saint here. It’s clear something went on between him and Jenn Sterger. The fine he received for not cooperating with the NFL’s investigation was a slap on the wrist (in our dollars, around $100), but Sterger didn’t cooperate either as both she and her lawyers appear to have hoped Brett would open up his checkbook (“considering all her options”) and make this all go away. Now that they didn’t receive anything, Favre’s insignificant fine is an “affront to all females”, and they may not be through with Brett.

Julian Assange warns that any government that tries to curtail his activities risks triggering a new deluge of state and commercial secrets. He has suggested the contents are unredacted, posing a possible security risk for coalition partners around the world.

The “doomsday files” are part of a contingency plan drawn up by Assange and his supporters as they face a legal threat.

Julian actually thought he could fuck with the business of nations around the world, they wouldn’t come after him, and now threatening those nations will make them back up off him? If Assange shoots his wad and the world continues to turn, then what…?

The ACLU has a history of siding with CAIR on Muslim issues, so when it came to an admission in George W. Bush’s new book, their reaction was not unexpected.

In his new book, Decision Points, Bush details how he authorized the waterboarding of certain terror suspects, even though the practice is largely considered to be a form of torture and was since banned by the U.S. Well, the ACLU isn’t happy with the admission – and they think it’s worth a criminal investigation.

While not alone, the ACLU appears to have more sympathy for terror suspects than those they may kill.

A South Florida man may have a few more dollars to toss around at strippers after he won $650,000 in a settlement for injuries he suffered during a lap dance.

In 2008, Michael Ireland was poked in the eye by a stripper’s spiked high heel when he got a little too close during a performance at the Cheetah Club near West Palm Beach.

Now how do you explain to a potential girlfriend, or a wife, or parent where your head was at? “I went to a strip club, got a lap dance, and somehow her heel wound up in my eye”…?

Imagine the feminist uproar if the genders here were reversed….

Back in the day, I called myself an online columnist. It may be snobby, but I consider bloggers to be relatively untrained in the journalism arts and disciplines. Whether it be putting a logo on top of someone else’s video or cutting and pasting whole columns onto a blog (negating the need to visit the originator’s site), the amateurs are now learning the hard way what is and isn’t proper.

Operators of four more websites were hit Thursday with copyright infringement lawsuits alleging material from the Las Vegas Review-Journal was posted on the sites without authorization.

The suits bring to 107 the number of copyright infringement lawsuits filed since March over online postings of Review-Journal stories.

Simple. As in this case, I provided a teaser and a link. Many sites leave me alone as I introduce and direct readers to their sites to read entire pieces. That’s the way it should be done, in fact I had a blogger get all hissy because I asked him not to post my entire column on his site but just a tease and link.

Now, I’m not saying these sites should be sued… but I understand.

I have nothing at all against big girls, but there’s so many things that are wrong here, starting with Cassandra Marie Smith.

Cassandra Marie Smith, one of the plaintiffs, alleges in her complaint that she began working at a Hooters in 2008. At the time, she weighed 145 pounds. In a performance evaluation this earlier year, she claims in her complaint, a restaurant manager advised her “to join a gym in order to lose weight and improve her looks so that she would fit better into the extra small-sized uniform.” She alleged she was put on a 30-day “weight probation” and resigned.

“Heartbroken”… for not working at Hooters? Maybe with good reason as Hooters went out of their way to help her keep her job.

What’s Cassie gonna do if she wins, sue customers that don’t tip her as well as the other girls?
