Reacting to media reports that Nancy Pelosi “secretly” dispatched a top lieutenant to meet with Dede Scozzafava before the Assemblywoman’s shocking endorsement of Bill Owens, Conservative Party Chairman Mike Long called for a Federal Election Commission investigation of any “illicit inducements” that may have been offered in exchange for Scozzafava’s support.

“It a matter of public record that the Scozzafava family company is in financial difficulty. All her public statements about her withdraw mentioned money problems. Nancy Pelosi is desperate to win this seat,” Long said, adding: “Can it be a mere coincidence that Dede demand a face-to-face meeting, then jumps? What did Nancy Pelosi’s errand boy offer in person that they couldn’t discuss over the phone?”

Politico reported yesterday that Pelosi’s deputy, Congressman Steve Israel, met “secretly” with Scozzafava to provide “face-to-face reassurance” before Scozzafava bolted her party to back Owens. Israel refused to discuss the meeting with Politico.

Anything is possible with this bunch.

While perusing through the news this morning, I stumbled upon this: “As GOP celebrates wins, internal ideological battles remain”

With that, let me share with you a response to a fundraising email to the MassGOP party RINO chair. I was cc’d this from a good friend in my home state, where I divorced myself from the state party that rejected me and my conservatism….

This is exactly what I would expect from a corrupt organization that has clearly lost its way and which is why you’ll not get a dime from this home! If you closely examine the polls and candidates you “proclaim Republican victory” for inside and outside of this state, you will see that in both Virginia and New Jersey top of the tickets were Conservative and as such offered a clear choice for the electorate.

Here in Massachusetts a majority of those winning, exception being in the cities/towns that are completely out of touch with reality, were also conservative and offered a choice. In the rare instances where a RINO won, it was an anti incumbent message, NOT a hooray we are voting Republican message. Additionally in my talking to some of the victors the MAGOP offered them nothing, or what “advice” was offered was politely refused or ignored.

A MAGOP typical candidate is/was in the 23rd congressional District, Dierdre Scozzafava, deserting party values with her support of abortion rights, gay marriage and labor unions and ACORN endorsement. THAT is a MAGOP candidate and the power elite in DC supported her along with the republican elitist in upstate NY. Her money and RINO message was drowned out and flatly ignored by the electorate!

The conservative got no support from your type and still managed to make it a competitive race, even after your type Republican endorsed the Democrat. The seat held by a Republican for over 100 years is now in Democrat hands because you Republican lites think you know what is best…

Why would anyone give a dime to you/your entity? You have already stated your not giving candidates money. Are we supposed to give money to support you and your cadre of bureaucrats salary and benefits? Get Ron Kaufman to spend some of the half million a year he gets from the dictator and fund your lavish parties, Or have “Your Republican Governor” Weld, in particular, call Obama, since Weld endorsed him, maybe Obama will throw some recovery money your way, the MAGOP would more than qualify as being in need of assistance. I’ll give my money, time and support to actual candidates.

I don’t choose to pay for your type’s utilities, parking and lunches in Boston!

In order that I do not vomit with your twisted logic, an outright lies, remove me from your email list!

I was asked to maybe get involved politically down here in Virginia. While at one point I have said “never”, if I were to jump in the deep end again, it would be somewhere that had real a Republican Party, and not the sorry excuse for a state party whose officials have insulted me, and when I ran and needed their support, gave none to any candidate, except those who kissed their ass and played the moderate game to defeat.

This is one of those moments and I relayed that incorrect information on to you.

At 10:15AM ET during America’s Newsroom on Fox News Channel, co-host Martha MacCallum reported that in a gaggle with reporters Wednesday morning White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs claimed that President Obama did not watch election results Tuesday night but rather watched an HBO special about his 2008 campaign.

A tipster contacted NewsBusters questioning that report and after having acquired a transcript of the press gaggle, we have confirmed that the Fox News report was incorrect and Gibbs did not make any such statement.

While it would be easy for me to launch on Martha MacCallum and her irritating inhale-laugh, she’s probably just a victim of an over-zealous teleprompter. One would think Fox News would be a little more careful, seeing how they’re in the very public White House crosshairs.

Based on that erroneous report, I made some disparaging remarks about the president. In context with that specific report, I retract those comments.

President Obama (via Anita Dunn and David Axelrod and Robert Gibbs) issued his definition of objective journalism. The assessment was that Fox News was to be shunned as they are an arm of the Republican Party. If that’s the case, one would think the media would be very careful to distance themselves from politicians so the sentiments from both, at least, appeared objective.

MRC President Brent Bozell sent out an internal email earlier today which I declined to share, but now that Seton Motley has posted it, I will…

Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Tim Kaine issued a statement on last night’s election results. The similarities between the DNC Chair’s words and CBS’s Katie Couric’s October 27 Award winning comments are striking.

Okay, guess who said what…

“… The Republican candidate (for NY-23), a moderate, was purged from the Republican Party by the most extreme elements of the conservative right wing including Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck…. What occurred in New York has exposed a war within the Republican Party that will not soon end…. The all out war between Republicans and the far right wing is a disaster for the Republican Party and will dog it well after today.”

“There’s growing concern among some GOP leaders that controversial commentators and far-right conservatives have hijacked the message. People like Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin appeal to the base… (but) you can’t win with just the base…. Before the 2010 midterm elections roll around, Republicans need to get the focus back onto the Big Tent where all are welcome – and off the sideshows that are popping up along the party’s fringe.”

Check out Seton’s post for the shocking answers.

From our perspective, we won last night. We had one race that we were engaged in, it was in northern New York, it was a race where a Republican has held the seat since the Civil War. And we won that seat.
