We fund public schools. I demand my money back…

You listen to some of today’s young people and they way they speak of themselves and others gives off an air of superiority. However, while their spelling almost instantly gives them away (“loosers”), their job applications do not.

A 65% majority of business leaders say young people applying for jobs at their companies right out of college are only “somewhat” prepared for success in business, with 40% of C-suite executives saying they are “not prepared at all.” Not only that, but even those who get hired anyway may not rise very far. Almost half (47%) of C-suite executives believe that fewer than one-quarter (21%) of new grads have the skills they’ll need to advance past entry-level jobs.

Instead of Occupying, telling off cops (or anyone in authority), or dictating how the world should be, maybe these young people should just prepare themselves for a workplace that doesn’t really need them just because they’re them.

Jessica Felber claimed in a lawsuit against the University of Berkeley that a leader of a pro-Palestinian group rammed her with a shopping cart as she staged a counter-protest to the anti-Israel “Apartheid Week” conducted by the Muslim Student Association and Students for Justice in Palestine in 2010. Felber and another Jewish student claimed the University did not do enough to prevent the harassment which included the Muslim group conducting checkpoints around the campus. Students were asked if they were Jewish while passing the checkpoints.

On Thursday U.S. District Judge Richard Seeborg said the harassment, even if true, constituted protected political speech and dismissed the case against the university.

Anyone want to see how ballistic CAIR gets should someone bump a Muslim with a shopping cart, or worse?

The timing on this is just a tad suspicious…

Like some other people in the world we know, once you give them what they want, they will demand more.

Earlier this year, a MoveOn member named Robert Applebaum started up a petition for student loan forgiveness using our new website, SignOn.org. Robert’s petition spread quickly, especially after we emailed it to our list.

Then, something really amazing happened. President Obama actually responded—not with a form letter, but with an actual change in policy that will lower student loan payments for over 1.6 million people.

As usual, not one MoveOn demand that colleges lower tuition for these poor students: tuition that pays hefty salaries to liberal faculty members and million-dollar salaries to the 1% liberal college presidents. Funny how that works….

A HEADTEACHER got a roasting yesterday for turning the school heating OFF on one of the coldest days of the year — to save the planet. Pupils shivered in coats, hats and scarves as temperatures fell to just 1°C (34°F).

Head Rob Benzie switched off the radiators to show how the secondary school could cut its carbon footprint. But some staff and parents slammed the “barbaric” plan.

But Mr Benzie, 52, defended the “successful” experiment last Friday — locally the coldest day of the winter so far — and vowed to stage regular “eco-days” at the 640-pupil school.

As usual, no matter how many are inconvenienced or maybe harmed by their activities, liberals refuse to admit they just may be in the wrong. After all, it’s for the children.

The Obama Administration in yet another attempt to make us a color-blind nation, has issued new and improved guidelines promoting racial diversity in college admissions. As we’ve been down this road many times before, it reminds me of how I received this whole diversity strategy before and I pretty much feel the same way today.

Black students with lower grades should be admitted to the University of Michigan law school, not because of the traditional affirmative action argument regarding the need to redress the past lack of opportunity, but in order to be better lawyers, white students need black exposure? That means white law students, who’ve obviously never seen a black person outside of MTV rap videos or guest appearances on “Cops”, need to have us around physically for their educational and social enrichment.

Taxpayer-funded public education in minority districts (run predominately by liberals) is a colossal failure and as an attempt to cover their tracks, they aim to force unprepared students into places of higher learning using racism as an accusation at the ready. Yeah, that will solve the problem.

Here’s a clear example of what happens when liberals, who have no clue or use for anything athletic, use their power to deprive children in their charge of having good ol’ fashioned fun.

Footballs and baseballs have been banned from a school in Toronto because the are ‘too dangerous’. The principal of Earl Beatty Public School banned the hard balls after a parent suffered a concussion after being hit in the head with a soccer ball. Principal Alicia Fernandez told CBC News that the ban was necessary because of ongoing concerns about injury.

The ban, which has outraged students and parents, came into effect two weeks ago. Students can bring sponge or other soft balls to school to play with, but soccer balls, footballs, baseballs and even tennis balls must be left at home for ‘safety reasons’.

They banned Tag, Dodgeball, Musical Chairs and other games where there may be winners and losers. Now they can’t even play ball. At least one person feels good about herself.

Clearly, not all in America thinks those currently serving are deserving of a simple care package.

I think it is shameful that it is perceived as legitimate to solicit in an academic institution for support for men and women who have gone overseas to kill other human beings. I understand that there is a residual sympathy for service members, perhaps engendered by support for troops in World War II, or perhaps from when there was a draft and people with few resources to resist were involuntarily sent to battle. That sympathy is not particularly rational in today’s world, however.

The “Occupy Wall Street” movement has come to Harvard University. The gates around the main campus are now either locked or manned by several guards after hundreds of students set up an “Occupy Harvard” encampment Wednesday night.

The protesters say Harvard represents the one-percent that controls the nation’s wealth.

It will be real telling to see what kind of modern corporate conveniences will make the Harvard Occupied rich kids comfortable during their hissy fit, me-too protest.
