Obama Administration Files Brief Supporting Racial Preferences in University Admissions
On Friday, the Obama administration filed an amicus brief in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, supporting the use of racial preferences by the University of Texas in its undergraduate admissions. The brief is a full-throated endorsement of such discrimination, and it goes out of its way to say that the administration will support it at the K-12 level, too, as well as throughout university admissions.

So, minorities who don’t do well in school are off the hook. Teachers who don’t teach are off the hook. Politicians who won’t let kids opt out of failing schools are off the hook. Unions who won’t let teachers and administrators be held accountable are off the hook. Parents who don’t motivate their children are off the hook, and all this in post-racial America.

BTW — The Obama Administration is buying off our kids.

Now, I’m not an intellectual but I have a question.

While we are talking Berkeley, it’s still a state-run university, thus is subject to the same budget deficit the rest of the state has to deal with (talk to the free-spending Democrats in the California legislature). These students can scream whatever ‘ism’ they want, but the rest of the state won’t suffer so a bunch of spoiled brats can catch a break.

Welcome to the world, kiddies.

DAY TWO

It’s been a year since I last hung out with Lieutenant Colonel Allen West (US Army, Retired), candidate for US Congress (Florida) and it was only for a few minutes in Manhattan. We’ll be talking soon in an upcoming interview.

I met US Senate Candidate (Washington) Dr. Sean Salazar and we have something in common.

It turns out both of us served on the USS Midway, Dr. Salazar with a squadron, myself ship’s crew, from 1985 to 1989. Sean stayed onboard for a few years after I left, but imagine two people serving on the same ship for four years during the late 80’s when they both meet in 2010 in Washington, D.C. for CPAC.

Small world.

Finally met up with conservative Hollywood writer/comedian Evan Sayet. Evan will be guest appearing on the next Notable Quotables show next week.

Cory and I met up with old friend, documentary filmmaker Nina May who produced Emancipation Revelation Revolution. I’ll be interviewing Nina as she’s got some very cool youth activities in progress.

The Paulies rubbed me the wrong way during the election ramp-up and apparently nothing’s changed at this year’s CPAC.

Many of them are over-boisterous, and some typically-rude booing speakers and calling for Ron to come out now. While Dr. Paul has some good ideas and points, his initial welcoming of this followers to the “revolution” is way too cultish, not to mention those followers (whom I still were liberals who drunk his Kool Aid, and now believe they can instruct conservatives how to be “real” conservatives) who are just a tad to arrogant for my taste.

DAY ONE

CPAC, as it turns out, was a bit of a reunion: people I’ve known for years online and finally got to meet in person. But someone had to open the place, bright and early….

Sen. Jim DeMint opens CPAC.

I was honored to find out Andrew Breitbart had been reading B&R for years and we finally met on Facebook last fall and face-to-face today.

Rachel Maddow infiltrated the bastion of conservative hate and left unscathed. She did like the MRC “Stomp out the Liberal Media” doormats, although she thought it sexist one wasn’t made of her.

We’ll see on the next run.

Talk show host Jerry Doyle (Babylon 5’s “Michael Garibaldi”) and I used to talk on the phone and email frequently after I was greylisted in Los Angeles. Today was the first time we’d talked in over 10 years.

Bill O’Reilly’s better half Griff Jenkins dropped by the booth next door to interview Liz Cheney. I snapped a quick pic and he reached over, we shared introductions and shook hands. Nice guy.

Bill would’ve been pissed.

Yes, I said Liz Cheney.

The former vice president was in radio row.

I shot Florida’s US Senate candidate Marco Rubio’s speech this morning, Cory shot Liz Cheney’s speech this afternoon and I shot House Minority Leader John Boehner’s speech as well. They’ll all be posted soon, as well as some of the speakers over the next two days.

Please stand by.

Remember the good ol’ days when children were “seen and not heard” (due to our lack of life experience) because we had little to offer an adult conversation. Today’s young people will get in our faces and authoritatively tell us what THEY think, which is why I have and will continue to remind them of their place and why.

Seeing how we support most of them, young people might want to be very careful about who they talk down to. Imagine what would happen if WE said, “Fuck you!”

therrendunham said in response to my vent about the “The TurboTax/MetaBank Hustle”

Wow, neocons crying about not getting something free. Go figure.

You are paying for the convenience of electronically filing through their service. You can always print and mail the returns out your damn self, if you don’t mind waiting about a good month and a half.

Pay the damn 60 bucks, you cheapskates. Or be smart enough to limit your deductions so Uncle Sugar won’t get a free loan with your hard-earned money all year.

therrendunham is in the Army (PC1). While his service is applauded, he is also living off me and everyone who reads B&R, so for that reason I think we deserve some fucking respect.

When one is WORKING, you see all the money the government takes (I use the word “takes” intentionally). After offering a service which is advertised as “free” and then an additional charge is levied later, it’s not something I can whine for someone else to pay. (I am rightly or wrongly assuming therrendunham is a punk). Add this up over the course of a lifetime, and yes, it damn well does piss me off. Had this charge been on TurboTax’s front page with an asterisk next to the word “free”, that would be honest. Charging AFTER the deal is near done is not. It has nothing to do with being cheap, but then again, one doesn’t have to worry about when you’re sponging off taxpayers (and I say that as a Navy veteran who would NEVER insult citizens while on active duty).

Then, in response to the 2006 “Black History Month” video, therrendunham wrote,

Here’s some novel issues you might wish to consider:

Stop exalting the GOP as if they’ve always had black folks’ interests at heart. THEY DIDN’T, and they still don’t. Better yet, how about a little CONTEXT when you bring up the laws they passed and the Dems didn’t? Most reasonable person knows that the modern GOP is not the same party of Lincoln that you stubbornly hold on to. In fact, one can argue that the democrats and Republican effectively switched platforms at various times in history. Thus, NEITHER party has the monopoly on civil rights, and neither party has the collective interests of black Americans in mind. Get over the ideology.

Personally, I’m getting real tired of thin-skinned liberals (who love to call anyone and everyone not like them racists, etc.), lecture me about Democrats now not being like Democrats were.

That argument could have some merit except for two little paragraphs.

On my piece “The Democrat Race Lie“, I cite two paragraphs from the Democrats.org website that to this day reads,

Democrats are unwavering in our support of equal opportunity for all Americans. That’s why we’ve worked to pass every one of our nation’s Civil Rights laws, and every law that protects workers. Most recently, Democrats stood together to reauthorize the Voting Rights Act.

On every civil rights issue, Democrats have led the fight. We support vigorous enforcement of existing laws, and remain committed to protecting fundamental civil rights in America.

If you read the subsequent history of the Democrat Party, you’ll clearly see that was not the case. Democrats opposed EVERY civil rights law, including the Voting Rights Act that Al Gore Sr. and J. William Fulbright (Bill Clinton’s mentor) voted against.

The point is that Democrats assume black people are too stupid to know their own historical experience in America, that is, a history whitewashed by liberal academia. For the Democrat.org website, thus the Democrat Party to take credit for “every civil rights issue” is a bold-faced lie, so if they are willing to lie about their history, that tells me they want it hidden.

To say that it’s not the same party, we’ll then, don’t lie about your history. Don’t lie to black people. Admit your past and show how you’ve changed, but to falsely take credit for civil rights gains while denying Klan roots is an insult to every American, and I especially feel a teensy bit of pity for the duped parrots.

I’m not going to take the time to answer the rest of the bloated comment aside from repeating what I say whenever I’m asked what Republicans have done for black people.

I usually respond with what Democrats have done TO black people. (For B&R regulars, this is review)

Blacks vote 90-95% for Democrats.

With that, the black community is represented by black Democrat mayors, black Democrat city councilmembers, black Democrat school superintendents, black Democrat police chiefs, black Democrat state legislators, black Democrat congresspersons, etc. With that, if you take into account how wonderful the Democrat Party has always been, the black community should have been a goddamn utopia decades ago, but we all know the black community is a place where few public officials go without armed escort.

The same problems blacks have been bitching about (poor employment opportunities, sub-standard public schools, high crime, etc.) for 50-plus years, they’re still bitching about today.

Democrats have no reason to fix anything in the black community, because once they do and people start to work and make good money, guess what normally happens? They see how much of their hard-earned dollars go to leeches and, in some cases, they become Republican.

Other perks that come with being a Republican include little things like not being associated with arrogant, rude punk ass kids (who are taught in schools that fraudulently promote themselves as welcoming the free expression of ideas, while chickenshit professors encourage their students to shout down anyone of whom they disagree).

If this Army punk wishes to live his life based on lies and hypocrisy, fine, but he will not go unchallenged, especially here.

Liberals often talk down to people who don’t think like them. Here’s a classic example of progressive elitist snobbery.

The United States opens this decade in a sour mood.

Don’t get me started…

The public is not only shifting from left to right. Every single idea associated with the educated class has grown more unpopular over the past year.

The educated class believes in global warming, so public skepticism about global warming is on the rise. The educated class supports abortion rights, so public opinion is shifting against them. The educated class supports gun control, so opposition to gun control is mounting.

A year ago, the Obama supporters were the passionate ones. Now the tea party brigades have all the intensity.
— David Brooks, NY Times, 1/4/10

This invokes several questions: who is really the “educated” because that really depends on who was doing the educating. Since liberals control education and public schools (for the most part) suck, maybe the “educated” aren’t so smart.

Hey did you hear about the iconic African-American guy who plays golf, and whose relationship with the public is in a free-fall lately?

You know, I’ve really been trying not to write an article every other week about all the things I don’t like about Barack Obama. But the little prick is making it very hard.

Now, can any of you imagine what would be said about a conservative who called President Barack Obama a “little prick”?

No, I don’t think we can…

Like any good progressive, I’ve gone from admiration to hope to disappointment to anger when it comes to this president. Now I’m fast getting to rage. How much rage? I find myself thinking that the thing I want most from the 2010 elections is for his party to get absolutely clobbered, even if that means a repeat of 1994. And that what I most want from 2012 is for him to be utterly humiliated, even if that means President Palin at the helm. That much rage.

That’s some serious rage.

When these people go into eating-their-own mode, they don’t play.

A Taunton father is outraged after his 8-year-old son was sent home from school and required to undergo a psychological evaluation after drawing a stick-figure picture of Jesus Christ on the cross.

The father said he got a call earlier this month from Maxham Elementary School informing him that his son, a second-grade student, had created a violent drawing. The image in question depicted a crucified Jesus with Xs covering his eyes to signify that he had died on the cross. The boy wrote his name above the cross.

I hope the teacher and/or school officials who sent this child home from school are proud of themselves.

Knowing liberals in academia, they probably are.

With U.N. security letting in only those cleared last week, hundreds of accredited delegates, journalists and NGO representatives were left to stand for hours in near-freezing temperatures before being let through. “It was crazy,” AP’s Seth Borenstein said. “You couldn’t leave the line. You couldn’t go to the bathroom, you couldn’t eat. Then snowflakes started falling. One woman even said, ‘if lightning strikes me, would they take me out of line?’”

People started handing out food — one gave out tangerines, another croissants. A man screamed “I don’t need food. I need socks! I’m freezing my ass off out here.” At one point, a U.N. official announced the wait would be longer, prompting the crowd to boo and chant “Let Us In!”

Remember, Borenstein is one of those who insist the world is burning up from global warming.

Funny, I don’t ever remember using the word Allah, that is until 9/11. Funny how that happened, and I wonder how many other religions are even allowed mentioned in schools in Muslim countries?

No, I’m talking about the green slime environmentalists who ridiculed anyone who didn’t get in line and give their homage to the all things green. We were told to conserve, recycle, change our way of life and save the planet. We were told to abide by environmentalist narcissism and buy into the fact that people were more powerful than Mother Nature. We were told we more than capable of destroying something we could never create, and if we didn’t drop everything and go green now, we’d all die horrifying deaths.

(And it’s a real shame we have to rely on foreign press to get information on this scandal.)

We’re talking about people who had no conscience about perpetuating a lie, even when it meant knowingly sending innocent little kids to bed crying, just to be woken by nightmares not based on fact but by a desire to make everyone conform to a way of life the elites wouldn’t live, but all of us would be forced to live under so a few could make serious amounts of money.

Yes, this (in the end) is all about money. It’s quite ironic that the same environmentalists who accuse oil companies of greed, are themselves propagating a scam to make themselves the rule makers of a global warming bank where the rest of us only make forced deposits.

Those of us (previously called deniers) who didn’t get sucked into the sham don’t want to see the world polluted unnecessarily. But we don’t wish to be held hostage to quack science now known to be a lie. Unfortunately, we’re also dealing with people who’ll never admit they were wrong while everything around them points to the fact they were. Just ask those who voted for Barack Obama and are now jobless and broke.

When it comes to global warming and climate change, there are people I just don’t wish to hear from ever again.

GREEN SLIME: AL GORE
If I was an environmental activist, the first tip-off would wouldn’t get in people’s face and debate the issues. This man managed to win a Nobel Peace Prize, Academy and Grammy Award, all without showing any kind of leadership (guts) and take on all comers when it came to defending the planet. He conveniently declared all debate on the matter closed; not because it was but because he was a hustler and a coward.

GREEN SLIME ENVIRONMENTALISTS AND “SCIENTISTS”
I’ve questioned both their knowledge of the topic as well as their motives when after all the years of issuing blame for the impending doom caused by global warming, there’s one thing they consistently omit from responsibility: The Sun.

That immediately told me they weren’t interested in the truth because they blew off the most obvious. A five-year-old could consider The Sun a cause of warming. Full grown environmentalists seemed to lack the common sense of a child, so why would we place the future of our world economy in the hands of these clueless saps?

GREEN SLIME POLITICIANS
Carol Browner of Obama’s EPA doesn’t care about the emails that not only prove the so-called climate scientists fudged their findings towards desirable results, considered destroying evidence sought under the UK Freedom of Information Act, and ostracized anyone who questioned findings they knew were manipulated. It’s more important to move forward with cap-and-trade policies that will cripple the United States economy and make his Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers carbon-credit-trader partners very rich.

Any elected official (given the recent revelations) who recites the global warming-climate change scam should be recalled and/or impeached. The debate is over when it comes to the motives of any politician that pushes this. Either that person is ignorant, arrogant enough to dismiss any chance they were wrong, or have something politically or financially to gain by parroting a lie.

They’ve already forced many communities to separate their garbage into multicolored bins just to make themselves appear “smart”. Such separation is not cost saving, but that makes environmentalists feel good about themselves (and that’s all that matters).

GREEN SLIME HOLLYWOOD ELITES
In their on-going quest to be considered relevant, celebrities have given their time and money to make us more aware of apocalyptic demise they they could never prove. It was all about their being the ones to tell us, and that’s all that need be said on the topic. Very few of Hollywood actors, actresses, singers, producers, and directors have little experience in the scientific community. They consider themselves experts when they play relevant roles or sing of saving the world.

With that, they invade our homes with promotions and expect we should all fall in the environmentalist line because they say so. We may be personally and financially affected by green policies, but the Hollywood elite never seem to be bound by the rules they’d see inflicted on the rest of us. When they tell us to drive little hybrids, they drive drunk down Santa Monica Boulevard in brand new SUVs. While they tell us to conserve electricity, they leave the lights on in their ten-bedroom Bel Air mansions when they go away for a month. While they tell us to fly commercial and leave a smaller carbon footprint, they fly around in private jets because they’re too important to wait in line with the rest of us.

They’ll use more water, power, and leave more waste behind because they believe they’re better than us and deserve those little perks.

GREEN SLIME ENTERTAINMENT
With the revelation that fraudulent science is behind the global warming-climate change scare, I will personally have greater contempt for any network that tints their logos green to remind us that they’re more enlightened than their mere customers.

They should spare us the message programming and public service announcements telling us how to be more responsible wards of our planet, because not only do we know it’s all bullshit, but talking down to us like we’re stupid further repels us from your product.

GREEN SLIME EDUCATORS
These people are even more cowardly than Al Gore.

It’s one thing to try to indoctrinate someone my age about all this global warming crap. Some of us were around when scientists were screaming “global cooling” just a couple of decades ago. Some of us know where to go when it comes to seeking the other side of an argument. But it must take real guts to show elementary school children pictures of polar bears playing on ice sculptures and tell them they’re on melting icebergs and will soon drown.

It must take real guts for teachers to tell high school and college students to go protest on the streets (where they may get arrested), but these teachers are seldom there with their students. It must take real courage to issue one-sided presentations to the very young and impressionable; even more courage to use the authoritative nature of the student-teacher relationship to create little environmentalists base on junk science, just to bolster a political, redistributive agenda.

The days of being guilted green are over (and with a great sense of irony) this battle evolve into a second phase where the believers have become the deniers.

Here we have yet another case where an honest discussion is shut down because Muslim groups demanded it be shut down. There are some constants that lead to cowardice in these cases: “demands” that speech they don’t agree with be squelched, while it’s deemed quite appropriate for other Muslim groups to publicly call for the downfall of America.

Why do our colleges (and other entities) always succumb to the demands of Muslims?

Nonie Darwish, the executive director of Former Muslims United and author of Cruel And Usual Punishment: The Terrifying Global Implications of Islamic Law, was scheduled to speak at Columbia and Princeton University last week, but both events were canceled under pressure from Muslim groups on campus.

Arab Society president Sami Yabroudi and former president Sarah Mousa issued a joint statement, claiming: “Nonie Darwish is to Arabs and Muslims what Ku Klux Klan members, skinheads and neo-Nazis are to other minorities, and we decided that the role of her talk in the logical, intellectual discourse espoused by Princeton University needed to be questioned.”

If anything, Muslims are quite aligned with the progressive left. The abhor and squelch speech they don’t agree with, and love to use minorities to make their arguments, while doing very little to lift the oppressed minorities used.

If you check out the self-imposed Princeton University-wide Conduct Regulations, I can’t see how anyone could ever openly speak there.

Princeton University strives to be an intellectual and residential community in which all members can participate fully and equally, in an atmosphere free from all manifestations of bias and from all forms of harassment, exploitation, or intimidation. As an intellectual community, it attaches great value to freedom of expression and vigorous debate, but it also attaches great importance to mutual respect, and it deplores expressions of hatred directed against any individual or group. The University seeks to promote the full inclusion of all members and groups in every aspect of University life.

And we all know that freedom of expression is seldom squelched when it comes to the left protesting people who have the nerve to disagree (hate) with them.

Ask Tom Tancredo how that works (courtesy of the University of North Carolina)…

THIS is the kind of free speech taught in schools today. Intolerance for views contrary to the liberal view, thus almost every college admission statement celebrating an atmosphere that invites the free expression of ideas (or similar verbiage) is bullshit, and all college is about today is breeding little liberals unable to see right from wrong (judging).

Columbia and Princeton, thanks.
