You listen to some of today’s young people and they way they speak of themselves and others gives off an air of superiority. However, while their spelling almost instantly gives them away (“loosers”), their job applications do not.

A 65% majority of business leaders say young people applying for jobs at their companies right out of college are only “somewhat” prepared for success in business, with 40% of C-suite executives saying they are “not prepared at all.” Not only that, but even those who get hired anyway may not rise very far. Almost half (47%) of C-suite executives believe that fewer than one-quarter (21%) of new grads have the skills they’ll need to advance past entry-level jobs.

Instead of Occupying, telling off cops (or anyone in authority), or dictating how the world should be, maybe these young people should just prepare themselves for a workplace that doesn’t really need them just because they’re them.

Still, while racism persists on the right – witness Newt Gingrich’s slurs about the NAACP and food stamps and his slurring President Obama as “the food stamp president” – it’s remarkable to see how readily conservatives have found a way to blame economically struggling Americans for their own plight, even when most of them are white.

We’ll see if Joan Walsh has the guts to respond.

It’s unfortunate that the Bureau of Labor Statistics may have been politicized and the media may be dutifully repeating fudged numbers to protect a certain preferred candidate.

It won’t surprise anyone that as of December, the real implied unemployment rate was 11.4% (chart) – basically where it has been ever since 2009 – and at 2.9% delta to reported, represents the widest divergence to reported data since the early 1980s. And because we know this will be the next question, extending this lunacy, America will officially have no unemployed, when the Labor Force Participation rate hits 58.5%, which should be just before the presidential election.

Funny how we hear how better the economy is doing, however the people we talk to on the street say otherwise.

The president blames the Democrat-controlled Senate for not confirming his nominee and by pulling this latest end-around has essentially declared war on the Legislative Branch, while creating yet another unaccountable bureaucratic monstrosity.

As this is the first email of such an event I’ve received since Brown’s been in office, my only question is a cynical “What took you so long?”

Generation Y gave us Obama. The voted in record numbers, got in our faces about how much better he would be for the country because of all the stuff he promised THEM. Now, they’re don’t like his economy but aren’t likely to vote for his opposition either….

Less than one-third of Millennials approve of the president’s handling of the economy, a 10 point drop since February. Three-quarters of the group say the economy is their top concern. In addition, Millenials think the country is headed in the wrong direction by a margin of more than 4 to 1.

The silver lining for Obama is that youth voters back him over two top Republican challengers, Mitt Romney (37% to 26%) and Newt Gingrich (39% to 23%).

Maybe it’s time for a Mic Check to get them back in unison again.

Yo Jon, while I understand the need for a way to pay off all the debt that’s been built up over the decades, don’t guilt the American people as something we need to do because we’re totally responsible. Politicians on both sides, as a way to suck up to their constituencies, paid them off with lavish labor contracts and pensions, social programs, government contracts and other expenditures they knew we ultimately couldn’t afford, but did so anyway for their own political self interests. If it were up to me, a lot fewer people would be sacrificing and a select few would bear the responsibility.

It’s amazing the president can say such things with a straight face, but Tuesday he warned the crowd in Osawatomie, Kansas if his chosen czar to enforce Dodd-Frank isn’t confirmed…

Many parents have probably long since cleaned out basement, spare room, and/or garage dwellings making it quite clear they don’t want things to go back to where they were. Ah, where to go when no one really wants you around at all…?

The latest battle on Capitol Hill involves the looming payroll tax cut expiration. The president has instructed the legislators to get it resolved even if it means working through the Christmas break.

We need to get this done. And I expect that it’s going to get done before Congress leaves. Otherwise, Congress may not be leaving and we can all spend Christmas here together.

Then again, we ARE talking about President Do-As-I-Say-Not-As-I-Do…
