Running On Empty

As many of you know, B&R is a full time gig in itself and for the most part takes almost constant monitoring of world events to remain relevant. While I do this out of passion, it also takes a toll on my personal life as well and in order to do this right, I have to want to do this. There are times I run out of gas (especially after a presidential election) and this is one of them.

As you also know, that passion tends to return with a vengeance and I anticipate by the new year that will be the case again. I wish you all a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year and see you all again on January 1.

    Bob, you da man! I found this site 4 1/2 years ago looking for something else. It’s the only blog I read consistently; I check it every day. My 20-year-old, MM3 (nuclear field) Colin White, does too; he read it all through high school. Do what you gotta do. We’ll be here when you get back.

    For maximum battery life, discharge fully at least three to six times, come back up to full charge.  Do this at room temperature, you will be good for at least 200 more discharge/charge cycles.  If, however, you are NiCad, I can give you the procedure to erase the “memory” you are subject to – it involves low-current/high voltage treatment to blow out the “memory”.  Similar to a taser…

    Take care, drink plenty of fluids, kick back and relax.  We will miss ya temporarily, but know that we care about you and yours!!  Tell your son to soak his hands in Epson Salts daily to keep the infections out, and keep the skin regenerating.  Oh, and try that Asea treatment as well.

    I don’t do what you do and I’m wore down too. I’ve dropped listening to talk radio and barely catch the news…a huge change. Hard to be motivated when the outcome is known: Boehner will cry and cave and Barry and Mooch will party for 4 years on our dime.  I do need to do research on how to get free stuff from Obama’s stash.

    Have a very Merry Christmas and the best New Year ever, Bob. Like some of the others who posted above, I discovered your site about 2 years ago and now check it regularly, along with adding my two cents’ worth now & then. We probably don’t say it enough, but you are appreciated!

    Have some good ol’ egg nog over the holidays – yes, it’s loaded with calories, but, for me, there’s nothing like it to warm the soul and restore one’s batteries to full charge. Address the calories in resolutions for the New Year. Life is too short not to enjoy it once in a while and to me, not much beats egg nog on a cold winter day.

    We’re going to need all the rest & luck we can get over the next four years!

    Enjoy your rest… the passion with which you grow this site is the reason it’s my first stop every time I get a chance to log on… I understand the fatigue. My husband gets frustrated with what he terms me “arguing with idiots”. He says it lowers my IQ… but as draining as it is… a lie left to stand is seen by the inexperienced, the ignorant (willfully or otherwise) and the witless as a truth.

    Honestly, much of my best stuff comes from here… and I’ve been known to just link to your site and tell people to come back and talk to me after they’ve educated themselves here first. (Hey, I still have 6 of the 7 kids at home and a full time job! LOL I’m just lucky this site is here for me to point them to when I run out of ooomph!)

        ROFLOL!! My favorite phrase to use is “What do you base that on?” or some form of that. Asking a liberal for actual proof or evidence is generally good for at least a couple exploded heads as they attempt to reply with feelings instead.

    Hey, Bob, I hear ya. This is the first time I have looked here in about a week.(I usually check in with my morning tea.) Since the election, I have been in a kind of “I don’t care anymore” attitude. People are a lot stupider than I gave them credit for and I have had it with the Republican Establishment. I really don’t want to even hear about the fiscal cliff negotiations. So, I can really relate.

    I have turned off talk radio and been listening to Christmas music.I can’t fix it and I will be darned if I let it ruin the holidays.

    So, I am going to take a break too. No news, no Drudge, no blogs, nothin’.  I am just going to relax and I’ll meet y’all back here at the begining of next year.
