‘Meatless Mondays’ In L.A., You Now Have No Choice

I’ve said many times that liberals come up with such wonderful ideas, they have to force people to do them….

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Los Angeles hereby declares all Mondays as “Meatless Mondays” in support of comprehensive sustainability efforts as well as to further encourage residents to eat a more varied plant-based diet to protect their health and protect animals.

It will be interesting how this is implemented (or forced) but there may be some cranky people in the City of Angels one day a week, for sure.

    I’m sure the burger/chikin’/sub/taco chains will come out with Monday specials for items with double patties, etc.

    Of course the school kids will not have a choice about what the food services will offer.  But they will adapt and carry more lunches which will result in the trashing of the excess slop that the schools will serve.  It could be a great teaching moment in the schools about political and economic freedom but you won’t hear it from the socialist teacher union employees.

    I’m sure they will have an uptick in soyburgers, IF they can find enough soy that hasn’t been turned into ethanpl!

    The LA wackos are sure finding new and interesting ways to throw sand in the gears of the social machinery.

      Soy has a protein which mimics the effects of estrogen.  Perhaps the prominence of soy-based foods explains the progress of effeminate men.

    Liberty is not suitable for people incapable of self-moderating behavior. Besides, they voted (i.e. affirmative action) to exchange their liberty for submission with benefits. It’s unfortunate that their representatives did not explain the consequences of their choice.

    As for protecting animals, the simian derivatives classify humans as animals, and express less concern for their wanton destruction. It is especially an issue for human life in the mother’s womb: without a name and without a voice to challenge the will of their executioners.

    The best way to ‘protect [our] health’ is to repeal Obamacare and let us eat what we want.

    I’m with Chris – I hope restaurants there will counter this with Mega Meat Mondays – double burgers, double meat pizzas, double meat tacos, double meat BBQ, etc.

    We are letting our freedom slip away one hamburger, one 16 oz soda, and one super-sized order of fries at a time,

    I’m looking for the mega meat Monday, too.  In the meantime, I don’t plan on changing my diet anytime soon, and I eat meat daily.  I also sent a snarky e-mail to the Meatless Monday website via their recipe request form.  Ha.
