The EPA hearts Big Ethanol More than food Petraeus Knew Benghazi Was Terrorism – Blackmailed To Lie? It’s kinda looking that way n.n The Hostess Liquidation: A Curious Cast Of Characters As The Twinkie Tumbles It looks like there are Democrats involved, again, on both sides of the debate. They are doing an outstanding job of burying themselves while shifting perception of responsibility to their competing interests. Thanks, of course, to the press and other well-regarded special interests (e.g. rights businesses). Sadly, in many ways Hostess is now indicative of that just as insolvent larger corporation, the USA, whose insurmountable balance sheet liabilities will be the eventual catalyst for its collapse, but only once the Income Statement and the Cash Flow sheet join in. For now, the Fed provides the flow needed to avoid the day of reckoning, but everything ends eventually. It’s interesting to note that only Romney and Ron Paul spoke of this deception (i.e. virtual economy). I guess a slight majority of Americans need to follow the rainbow to personally learn that there is no pot of gold. This is actually expected, as many or even most people prefer to learn from their own mistakes. I don’t think people fully appreciate the difference between the left and right in America. Igor I don’t think people fully appreciate the difference between the left and right in America. Oh, but eventually they will, they will. n.n In the meantime, we are forced, by law or something approximating it, to cope with this nonsense. We will not be able to address corruption in the exception, as long as fundamental corruption defends and sponsors it. n.n Vegetative patient Scott Routley says ‘I’m not in pain’ “Scott has been able to show he has a conscious, thinking mind. We have scanned him several times and his pattern of brain activity shows he is clearly choosing to answer our questions. We believe he knows who and where he is.” The observation of consciousness should be the minimum standard for establishing viability. With respect to abortion, this would limit elective procedures to around the first month following the mother’s last menstrual period. And the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and He breathed into his nostrils the soul of life, and man became a living soul. There is actually a biblical premise for distinguishing between biological and conscious development. Chris Israel: Hope they got lots of spare parts because Barry could privately encourage them to go ahead and defend themselves and then slow down the deliveries (think really slow) of spare parts leaving critical equipment unusable. Chris My uncle (1911-1982) worked at as a pressman for a big newspaper for many years. A union man all the way he would rail against management when we would talk. He rose in the local union ranks, eventually becoming president. He had lots of experience negotiating contracts. He was tough but fair. The Union eventually offered him a job that made him a negotiator, especially for helping smaller locals of smaller newspapers. The international HQ of the organization eventually got a new president that proceeded to pad its payroll with buddies of the president that could give up their ink-stained clothes for fine suits. When they could not raise dues enough to cover their expenses, they started laying off employees, including my uncle. A proponent of job security above all, my uncle lost his job because of the Union. He got his old job back with the newspaper, primarily because he was a fair and descent man. He would continue to get calls from union members at small locals needing help in their negotiations that the Union could not support because of job cuts. He died a changed man. n.n No Ho’s For You! (Ho-Hos, That Is) unions must face their own culpability (and accept the damage) in the outcome they advocated for and now are receiving … The worst offenders in this regard are the public-sector unions, who invariably advocate for political candidates and positions that intentionally drive this deficit spending and leverage expansion — but then argue they should be exempt from its consequence. It is important to distinguish between cause and effect. What we know with absolute certainty, is that unions have exploited their numerical and capital advantage to demand compensation for the consequences of policies which they supported. They have negotiated in bad faith at the expense of every American. It is one thing to negotiate a health care package for retirement that is expected to cost the firm $1,000 a year at the time you negotiate it. It is quite another to then take public policy advocacy positions that drive the cost to $10,000 or even $20,000 years later while claiming that you’re still entitled to the original benefit — not the original price of the benefit. The so-called “health care reform” treats symptoms while the causes are ignored. There is a pattern of incompetence, and fraud, which marks much of the progress we enjoyed throughout the latter half of the 20th century and later. So, again, there is a challenge to distinguish between cause and effect. Did good intentions drive corruption or did they provide cover for corruption? Tallyman BetrayUs lived up to his name. Is blackmailed an excuse for an honorable man? Last time, Barack consulted on economic policy with Corzine. This time, it’s Sharpton on economic policy. Rice spouted the talking points of her Liar in Chief. Did Moochelle stab the Hostess bakers union in the back? The poor of the world can eat grass, so the EPA can please its god of warming.
