    No one asked them to work there but once in, they want to dictate

    Yeah, maybe they need to ask those (now former) Hostess workers how that labor stoppage thingy worked out.

    And most Walmart workers have no specialized skill set.  Most of the workers here in Tennessee are pleasant and helpful people (possibly a southern thing), and I expect no problems in our area, but they are the very definition of entry-level, unskilled labor.  When I choose to shop at Walmart, it’s for convenience (nearby and open 24 hours) or for price (not as low as they used to be).  I don’t go for an exceptional customer service experience.

    Trying to reach a distracted electorate that doesn’t give a shit is the next challenge

    I truly believe this (but, of course, I’m old).  The first TV show I noticed that I thought “is the suitable for prime time?” and had “progressive” themes was Rosanne.  There were probably many more before leading to this one, but this is when I noticed it.  It has been getting so much worse that there is so little I watch because I guess I am easily offended by disrespectful brats using adult language.

    I recently purchased a DVD of  50-some old Christmas shows (99% in black & white and grainy) that was totally refreshing.  These dated back to the early 50s with the newest being The Beverly Hillbillies (mid-60s?).  Guess what?  Christmas was presented proudly, and even if they did a Santa Claus kind of show, the end of the program often referred to the real meaning of Christmas.  Can you imagine having a show on CBS, NBC or ABC that even eluded to the true meaning of Christmas any longer?  I also understand Charles Schultz had to fight for a network (I don’t remember which one)  to run his “A Charlie Brown Christmas” in the mid-60s because they felt people would object to the Nativity scene in that show.  So it had already started by then.

    The people raising families today have become so enured to the kind of trash presented that they neither notice nor care what their children are absorbing.  The TV is turned on and left on at almost all times anyone is in the house.

    Sorry for the rant, but I feel very strongly that TV and movies are leading our American families in the wrong direction.

      Sorry for the rant, but I feel very strongly that TV and movies are leading our American families in the wrong direction.
      Ever since the middle of the ’60′s.  The actual rot started small, with the Legal profession, but you can see the effects fully developed now.  And if you can’t, you’re part of the problem.

    Nearly 20% of Americans are unemployed or underemployed, and many more are net negative contributors to society. Black Friday could be used to host a job fair for their benefit.

    Illegal aliens are not welcome. They need to file grievances with the governments in their home countries for sponsoring or tolerating a culture of corruption.
