    When I was stationed in Thailand an acquaintance got a hatchet in the back of the head a short time after he refused to pay a hooker the TWO dollars he owed her. Some people are just shortsighted.

    The center took the unusual step of warning people more than 24 hours in advance of a possible “high-end, life-threatening event.”

    what do we call mobile home parks in oklahoma?  targets.  if you wanna be safe, build your house a mile away from a mobile home park.  as tragic as the loss of life is, in matters such as these, the weather events are part of living in flyover country.  over the course of the past four or five years alone, there have been just as many events such as these that have been far worse than what happened this past weekend.  the reason for all the alarm is joplin.  the city literally got blown away.  no amount of warning can prevent what happened.  if a tornado is going to hit a hospital it’s going to tear hell out of it.  it’s going to take a full day to evacuate, and to where?  where is going to be safe, from something that may or may not form, and if it does so, will do so in less than a minute, diminish just as quickly, and that again brings us back to where?

    the loss of life is tragic, and these events scare the hell out of me.  a couple of years ago one blew through tulsa and sucked the front door of my store open.  scared the hell outta me.  what can you do?  where can you go?  underground?  flash flood warnings to follow.

    what all the hubub is about are these people got all these expensive toys and they are all starting to make the claim they can predict the weather in oklahoma.   horseshit.  this is the commercialization of weather forecasting.  we are the only ones thats got this toy, so watch our station.  ’cause if you don’t WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!  travis myer, channel 6 in tulsa,has fallen victim to this commercialization, he signs off his weather alerts with,  “stay tuned in, we’ll keep you safe”.  safe?  he’s gonna keep me safe?   horseshit.
