Why am I not surprised dad’s name is Mohamed?

National Enquirer’s Whitney Houston photo: Why are we shocked?

They ran pics of Elvis and John Lennon too.

  2. Cameron says:

Slovaks vote to name bridge Chuck Norris

Yeah, but nobody walks over Chuck Norris and lives. Oh come on; I couldn’t resist!

As for the Koran burning, I have a suggestion. Next time, go to a secure facility where only our people have access. Take a paper shredder. Presto! Desecrated Koran now disposed of and no one is any wiser.

    • Koala says:

…and don’t forget our soldiers had to burn bibles in Afghanistan.

      • n.n says:

Obama still has not apologized for that incident.  I guess that Christian sensitivities are not his concern, which is confirmed by his policies in America.

An Afghan in an army uniform killed two soldiers

Has Obama demanded an apology for the murder of two soldiers under his command?  I guess that their lives have less value than the Koran.

Either we fight a war in Afghanistan or we should immediately withdraw.  The American military is not losing, they are being directed to fail.  This has happened far too often in the wars and conflicts following the end of WW2. Once again, our military is forced to fight a war of attrition, their own.

Obamites only believe that Iran won’t build a bomb?  Isn’t the word of their messiah fact?

NY Times’ “J’excuse” is but the NYT’s “J’accuse” of journalist malignity.

We may be dependent on foreign oil, manufacturing, etc. for several reasons, including: environmental policies without reason and foreign nations with a vested interest.

ACT! for America founder speaks at anti-Sharia conference

I’ll summarize her speech as political correctness = progressive corruption. We should welcome all people, but they must be American first. We need to end a selective rule of law. We need to stop investing in nations and cooperatives that have agendas incompatible with our best interests. This is by no means limited to Islamic extremism, it is by no means limited to foreign interests, and it is by no means limited to economics.

I just lost all respect for Xena: Warrior Princess. This cooperative is at least one reason our foreign policy is nonsensical.

EXTRA! EXTRA! Keller: The New York Times is an upscale tabloid. Read all about it!

If they want more taxes, clean up their fraud-waste-and-abuse act first
Exactly! That’s what the TEA (Taxed Enough Already) Party was all about. The government cannot be permitted to act as another MF Global.

It may be just a coincidence, but God’s order exhibits an uncanny compatibility with evolutionary fitness. The homosexual behavior, as well as promiscuity, and other deviant behaviors, may be tolerated, but they should not be normalized.

That said, if evolutionary fitness is indeed no longer the priority, then establishing marriage based on a singular criteria of physical intercourse is discriminatory. Why do homosexuals and their supporters oppose the civil rights of people who voluntarily engage in other combinations?

Clearly this is neither a “black and white” nor a Black and White issue. It’s about time that people embrace the fullness of reality.

Police called as fights break out before release of new Nike sneaker in Florida
Dreams of material instant gratification. It is a progressive normal.
    - – -
    Obama budget’s backdoor amnesty
We are already familiar with a passive selective rule of law. However, the Obama administration is progressive, and it enforces an active selective rule of law.

Karen Santorum: Husband’s surge ‘is God’s will’
Perhaps, but we will not know until harvest.

Million-dollar foreclosures rise as rich walk away
So, who, exactly, are the “1%”?
    - – -
Google hires former Rep. Susan Molinari to lead Washington office
Well, that’s not progressive, or so they say.

  5. n.n says:

Richard Dawkins: I can’t be sure God does not exist
He told the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, that he preferred to call himself an agnostic rather than an atheist.

For people who do not have a faith in God, this is the only legitimate position they can take. Anything else would imply an occult knowledge and would be the premise for an alternative faith based on a selective perception of reality.

People would do well to acknowledge a simple and undeniable observation that there is an underlying order to our universe, which has yet to be classified, let alone explained. Whether that order is God or nature’s is irrelevant. The evidence would suggest they are equivalent.

Each faith should be judged by the principles it engenders. Each individual should be judged by the principles they embrace.

    • Koala says:

If Dawkins thinks God is an old bearded guy in the clouds that throws lightning bolts at people then it’s easy to see why he wouldn’t believe in it’s existence.

      • n.n says:

I doubt he is so naive.

You would be thinking of Zeus. Maybe such a being did once exist. Maybe man has before acquired understanding and control of the natural order. If that is the case, and they no longer exist, then perhaps that knowledge destroyed them; or, perhaps, they departed Earth, to escape primitive beings; or, perhaps, they were permitted refuge after proving their conscience. None of this is outside the realm of possibility. We know for a fact that the consciousness of mortal beings is capable of exerting finite control over the natural order.

I would perceive the issue to be derivative of original sin. The motivating principle of the Judeo-Christian faiths is that we exist for the purpose of judgment of individual conscience. This would suggest that original sin was analogous to children coming of age, then departing from their parents’ arms and working to develop their lives on their own merits, courage, and wisdom.

Perhaps, atheists , and agnostics, such as myself, merely resent God for “forcing” us out the door. We are rebels with a cause and without a clue. Hopefully, judgment will be applied according to standards of individual covenants.

In any case, what I stated was that there is an underlying order to our universe, which is an objective and undeniable truth. Some assign that order to God. While others marvel at its complexity, wonder, and observe. And others yet presume to have an occult knowledge, which, by definition, they have not shared with their fellow man. I would note that the first and second groups are not exclusive. In fact, the first is a subset of the second, or at least that is the directive handed down to us: “be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it”. In order to subordinate this world to our conscience, it is necessary to understand and control the natural order. When we achieve this. If we achieve this, then we will be as gods. We have not yet, but people are already drunk with power. However, there is a twist to this mortal divinity, and it is not, in fact, divine. We are individually constrained and simultaneously exist with other pretenders to the throne. The Judeo-Christian faith has provided guidance to pursue a reasonable compromise. Unfortunately, the child has a mind of its own, and their ego can be overwhelming.

What do you think? Is this a reasonable characterization of our lot?

There is also the matter of Satan; but, I tend to perceive him as a metaphor encompassing the failures we experience as juvenile delinquents struggling for wisdom. Our achievements and progress can be measured in degrees, and that difference describes what we commonly refer to as “good” and “evil.” Those degrees of distinction that arise from individual dignity are obfuscated when we conspire with others toward a common goal.

As for what God is, there is no reason to believe that we can comprehend his composition, let alone his character.

        • Koala says:

In Christian faith we exist to glorify God. We have individual talents and abilities. To deny one’s gift is spiritual suicide. Sin is going against nature.

God is love. The opposite of love is fear [satan]. The flames of hell and the light of heaven are one in the same. Those who are worthy will not burn.

Matthew 7:21 Jesus said “ ”Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter.”

          You’re good ,n.n.

          • n.n says:

Not according to the criteria you have cited. Not on any count. For whatever reason, I do not share your faith, and it is not forthcoming. While I do not deny my “gift”, it seems to be an infrequent occasion when I convert on it. There are, of course, extenuating circumstances that pose obstacles; but, I am not certain… No, I am predisposed to believe that they are minor mitigating factors. Still, I struggle, and that is worth something, at least to me.

Every spy movie in the last 50 years contains themes of insane foreign dicators wanting to get a nuclear weapon. I’m sure for Iran, it’s just a mistaken stereotype.
