B&R: Ten Years Ago Today

It was not the best time in my life, personally or professionally. I would soon leave California for Massachusetts. My experience in Hollywood left me bitter, alone and I had no release, that is until I saw a link on the Drudge Report about a new website called Men’s News Daily. Black History Month required a response that no one (I saw) was giving, so I submitted an op-ed to MND. To my surprise, it was posted. A week later, its editor emailed me asking “Do you have any more?” Since that day ten years ago, venting has brought many new and lasting friends, created opportunities (good and bad), and I hope has shared information not readily found but informative and/or entertaining.

Thank you all for your support,
Bob

And as we’ve both found out…it’s WAY better than shooting them!

Congrats for your first ten years, Bob! Never forget that you are providing an important service and a voice for those who may be afraid to speak out.

I read your first piece and now ten years later we do have elected black conservative leaders, sadly the perpetual race card is still being played by the left. It will be interesting to look back ten years from now and see how much progress we are making.

    Thanks for your dedicated service.

Bob, your misfortune in California became our good fortune as well as what appears to be silver lining for you. Yours is a refreshing voice in the (black conservative) wilderness.

  4. Koala says:

Great piece, Bob. The race card has been used so much lately it has almost lost it’s impact. Jesse Jackson is now pulling the victim card stating that the GOP’s “fiery rhetoric could incite a shooting at the White House.”

You wrote and were read.  You spoke and were heard.  Your spark was a beginning.   May your fire spread to illuminate more truth and warm more hearts.

Bob, when I first came across your site, you brought me hope that hadn’t seen or felt. You reported stories without sugar coating them. You work feverish to get the other side heard and you are greatly appreciated. I don’t think any of us could thank you enough for what you do Bob!

Here is to another 10 years of awesomeness (if that is a word)

  10. I’ve been an avid reader for 5 years, coming upon your site just after I created my own blog.  You have been and continue to be an inspiration – even to this White Canadian!  Congrats, Bob, and keep ‘em coming.

I started waaaay back in your Outside the Wire days, Bob, and have been happily lurking and then commenting ever since.  I believe I got here from Bill Whittle’s blog Eject! Eject! Eject!, but I don’t remember that far back…

As it may be, Happy Anniversary, Bob.  May the next ten years be even better than the first!!  Keep on ventin’

So glad you are here! I have been sharing your site since I found it a few years ago – especially with my lib friends… you point things out in ways that knock them upside the head (in a good  way) and they GET it …

Here’s to 10 more years – don’t know what I’d do w/out my daily fix from B&R – Happy Anniversary Bob!
