Is there honor among Progressives and their Black affirmatively promoted lackeys? Poor Juan, despised and rejected by his fellow Progressive travelers, and unable to deprogram his limited brain of his Progressiveness is now affirmative-action-debris.
The contemporary Democrat, liberal, and progressive is in the business of selling indulgences. However, unlike the failed model of central Christian churches from yesteryear, which promised a reward post-mortem, the modern secular cult offers a tangible reward in the form of escape from prejudice, bigotry, various phobias, and, if that were not enough, an unmerited superiority complex. Whereas the churches offer a return to their members for a minimal and fixed tithe, the secular cult earns its revenue through both progressive involuntary (e.g. taxes, inflation, and general economic distortion) and voluntary (e.g. “donations”) exploitation. There is a fine line that separates the two forms of exploitation, and the secular cult, represented by its contemporary (and older) Democrat, liberal, and progressive followers, has crossed it. In the finest tradition of cults, they have optimized and perfected the emotional appeal in order to hide their abuses. I would say this was learned from the old church practices, but this nuanced approach did not really emerge until after WWII.
This was confirmed in my mind when watching PBS last night. Two programs, one by Burt Wolf, and another hosted from a Caribbean Island, demonstrated explicitly how they exploit people’s emotions for profit. The former spoke of immigration (e.g. Irish, Jews) and how it built America. How the immigrants suffered in an environment filled with prejudice and bigotry. How it was those immigrants who built America. The latter covered the Caribbean paradise, with a few minutes allocated to the plight of the Iguana, and a few more to the courage and freedom of black Africans after the end of slavery in the Western hemisphere.
So, if you are suffering from emotional distress or feelings of inadequacy, envy a culture which was the foundation for the establishment and development of the most robust and tolerant nation in the history of the world, then vote and donate to the contemporary Democrat, liberal, and progressive cause.
The old central Christian churches were never so competent in their programs of offering indulgences for a better afterlife. The secular cult properly recognized that a large minority of people have a need and desire for instant gratification (i.e. physical, material, and ego), and the rest, as they say, is history.
