Paradoxically, Marxism always descends into cults of personality, in spite of Marx’s warning, “From my antipathy to any cult of the individual, I never made public during the existence of the [1st] International the numerous addresses from various countries which recognized my merits and which annoyed me.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cult_of_personality
We have i.e. Stalin, Lenin, Mao, Ho Chi Ming, Fidel, Chavez. This appears to come from an innate human desire for a King (Leader, Chairman, etc.) to think for people which was condemned three thousand years ago by the Prophet Samuel and God with, “give them strict warnings and explain to them how a king will treat them.” But the people were stubborn then and are as dumb now. (1 Samuel 8).
Today the same mindset worships Obama and believes he will be their King and Messiah.
When Stalin died, the inmates at the Gulag as reported by Solzhenitsyn cried hearing of the death of Stalin with, “If only Stalin knew.”
Thinking is very fraught with doubt for many and believing in a King would make this doubt go away. To live free is replaced with to live as a sheep protected by my shepherd.
So, Marx was strictly a philosopher, without political ambitions? Interesting. He recognized the flaws born from his philosophy with the hope that people would consider it in principle and not in practice. The separation between best and worst ideas is measured in degrees.
If only Obama could control the media this way. Many of us would not know how bad things actually are. Oh, wait!
George Washington was asked to be the King of the newly formed USA. Take a guess what he said, people…
Cartman…. hahaha!!
That was great! Thanks guys for a good chuckle to start my day.
Those poor people would do better with Cartman, actually…
