It’s clear these debates are not about informing the public, but for propping up the image of flailing news “commentators” and ad revenue. Those of us who plan on voting in GOP primaries know where to get information on the candidates.
Are these sideshows really necessary?
- No (84%, 188 Votes)
- Yes (16%, 35 Votes)
Total Voters: 224

Wait … are we voting on whether or not we have had enough debates, or if these sideshows are really necessary?
The latter.
Ooops. Then I voted wrong. I think the debates have been completely useless and I stopped watching them about 67 debates ago.
More like, “Are these circus sideshows really worth wasting my time on?”, Bob.
NO
And would somebody pleeeeeeeze tell me why the ‘Pubs keep going to these things? Frankly, when I repeat something and get burned a second time, I quit!
(The first time could’ve been a fluke. The second time is enemy action.)
Might be that the dumbing down of America has succeeded and nobody even knows what the word, “debate” means anymore, but these things Bob calls sideshows are closer to being what the Soviets implemented in their Show Trials.
That said, time will tell, but I have a feeling that the whole thing will get turned around to the good as more and more Americans who aren’t real political junkies get to see for themselves just how biased the MSM truly is and their smug crap is going to backfire on them bigtime…
I have only watched one, so far. I might have like to see The Hermanator and Newt do that thing in Texas, but I didn’t. Otherwise, I’ve limited myself to “debate” excerpts wherein Newt schools a series of liberals that are clearly out of their depth.
These debates train our candidates to be better debaters. Practice makes perfect.
