The Manhattan street rat has always been present in large numbers. If you walk the streets anywhere in Manhattan after midnight you see things dash from sewers to under cars and into buildings. The ordinary NYer doesn’t know these are rats because they are extremely fast runners and infest everything in the city. Oh joy, when the OWS sleeper sees one of many running over their body and through their food. Norway rattus meets Marxist rattus and the only intelligent one and ultimate survivor is the smaller of the two.
Pray to God for whom? For those poor French bankers who bought all that Greek debt and used it to capitalize their banks? Or those private Greek bondholders who the French want to accept a 60% reduction in their bonds’ values? Or those idealist Greek Socialists who can’t afford to pay all those Greeks needy of government support? God’s answer is GALATIANS 6: 7: Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
The above answer also applies to Obama and his OWS sycophants

I must admit that I am very uninformed about the “national popular vote” movement and that I have never heard of Trevor Loudon until today. I need to do more research.
Does anyone else have more insight into this?
the idea is to eliminate the electoral college and have a nationwide vote count. This would shift power to the large cities and also without stringent voter identification could allow a massive vote fraud in some cities control electoral outcomes. You can begin with the Texas and Illinois vote fraud that elected JFK and which Nixon decided not to contest for the good of the country. Today things are only worse in Illinois and Democrat strongholds elsewhere. With the electoral college, even a massive Chicago vote fraud would only give you the electoral vote for Illinois. Now what happens if Mexicans vote in LA and their vote has to be counted?

I looked into it this morning, and I can think of only two reasons why the Left would support it, which see at the bottom of this post.
The idea is simple. All of a state’s electors must vote for whichever general election candidate garners the most popular votes nationwide, irrespective of how the majority of that state’s population voted. It doesn’t do away with the electoral college, but makes it an unnecessary appendage. It seems that it is not unconstitutional, as some opponents claim, because every state already has the power to make the rules which bind its electors.
It appears that it is mostly Democrats and the Left who support it, but why? Perhaps they look at the 2000 election and, realizing that this kind of process would have put Al Gore into the White House, imagine that it would work in their favor next year and thereafter. That, at least, is the belief of the author of the article linked from this web site.
But the numbers should give them no encouragement. Twice as many Americans describe themselves as either somewhat conservative or very conservative as those who describe themselves as any kind of liberal (Battleground polls for the last 13 years at least). Rasmussen recently suggested that self-described conservative voters may outnumber liberal voters by three-to-one. Imagine California – which has passed an NPV law – having to cast all its Electoral College votes for the Republican candidate next year because that candidate got more popular votes nation-wide than The One.
Perhaps they either don’t know or don’t believe the numbers. Certainly there are many liberals who entertain the delusion that their ideas are shared by a majority of Americans and would be shocked, shocked to discover that they aren’t.
Conservatives should be cautious about taking too much satisfaction from this, though. The GOP, after all, has a miserable record with respect to nominating true conservatives for the Presidency. The 2000 election would have been a shut-out (as would all other Presidential elections) if the “leadership” of the GOP had the faintest clue about this.
But maybe the Dems are counting on massive ballot-box stuffing. Would that surprise anyone here?
That Corpus Christi turnout is even worse than Detroit, which grew from about 50 people to a tent city of 100. Over the weekend two Occupiers got married there. Blech!
A op-ed writer at MLive (the online Michigan news site) camped out with them for 24 hours and said it was better than the Tea Party, which was “a movement of, for, and by intellectually dishonest people.” But Detroiters tend to see the Occupiers as lame, since they aren’t from Detroit and don’t know their venue. Two of the bigger news stories in Detroit have been the commutes effected by the work slowdown of SMARTbus mechanics (a problem solved if more EVIL CORPORATIONS relocated to the city) and the shutdown of the Detroit Science Center (which could use a CORPORATE SPONSOR). See how that works?
But the biggest irony is that the Occupiers are camping in Grand Circus Park. It’s in an area renewed by EVIL corporate sponsors and HORRIBLE folks seeking profits from their theatrical and cultural productions. Go back a decade or so, and it wasn’t exactly where anyone would feel safe camping.
Interesting. They are less occupiers and more invaders unfamiliar with the indigenous people and culture. This would suggest that their business plan was not properly reviewed before implementation. Clearly, neither their product nor service is desired by the market they hope to exploit.
Who in their right mind would hold accountable private interests before authoritarian interests for commission of crimes and general corruption.
On the other hand, their kind are predisposed to unsubstantiated generalization. So, bypassing the investigatory phase would be proper for any movement they would initiate.
They have a similar problem distinguishing between cause and effect in scientific endeavors.
As was their effort to effect redistributive change in the name of AGW/AGCC/”climate disruption”, may their current effort to replace our society suffer a similar progressive failure.
It was their policies, starting with involuntary exploitation and restriction of liberty under slavery, that has ensured America would be held in judgment. The situation has been further exacerbated through denigration of individual dignity and devaluation of human life; followed by a progressive failure to convey moral knowledge in a free society.
In any case, corruption in the exception should be held accountable through the rule of law. When the authoritarian interests who dictate, enforce, and uphold the rule of law are corrupt, then it is those interests who must first experience a correction.
