The ‘Security Committee of Occupy Baltimore’…?

Within a pamphlet being handed out by the “Security Committee of Occupy Baltimore”

Sexual abuse or assault at Occupy Baltimore is in violation of our values, and will not be tolerated. It is an explicit policy of Occupy Baltimore to prohibit abuse by any member of the community upon another person. Violation of this policy will result in the abuser no longer being welcome at Occupy Baltimore.

The Occupy Baltimore prohibits retaliation against any member, survivor, or outside person who reports in good faith a complaint of an abuser or who participates in any related inquiries. False accusations of sexual abuse in bad faith can have serious consequences for those who are wrongly accused.

While Occupy Baltimore has been in existence for less than a month, do they really need to remind their people that rape is bad (as are false rape allegations), retaliation for reporting it is bad, and if you do rape someone, you have to go home?

The COWS movement is prelude to establishment of a society. This would explain their focus on private citizens in lieu of the progressive corruption which pervades authoritarian interests.

Wait a sec—I thought the Leftists are the ones who are always telling us that you can’t legislate morality and here they go saying that rape is bad. I’m also curious as to how they expect to enforce these rules.

What we are now seeing the end result of the lazy parents who were more concerned with their own peace and comfort, than they were in raising their children to be decent human beings. They didn’t want to stifle their precious snowflakes with rules and boundaries. Now these mindless idiots are coming into contact with the real world and their only response to someone who commits a heinous, violent crime like rape—oh, excuse me, “sexual assault”—and is a threat (which they probably can’t or won’t enforce) to put the perpetrator in Time Out.

Maybe they should write another paper about how it is wrong to murder someone and that if you kill one of the other community members you will be banned from drum banging for two days.

    No longer welcome.

    Oh my!

  4. Tallyman says:

Why not follow tradition and name it the Committee for Public Safety and use their efficient quick procedures, where the law enumerated various forms of public enemies, made mandatory their denunciation, and severely limited the legal recourse available to those accused. Use modern NOW’s femi-marxist doctrine. All women are to be believed and there are no false accusations by women. The only question for the committee is did a women charge him? Yes; then punishment. No; then punishment for the accuser. Is a Daughter of Robespierre available for leadership. Viva the Revolution. Justice for the Enemies of the Revolution.

  5. SoCalOilMan says:

while they occupy a measly block or two banishment may be somewhat feasible, but what happens when they control the city? The County? the State? The Country? Banish to where?

My guess would be they would have to set up a place to segregate the people who do wrong against others. I wonder what they would call these places? Certainly not “prisons”.

Who would they get to make sure that the banished stayed where they wouldn’t hurt or steal from others. Certainly not “guards”.

How would they convince the not-guards to stay there and watch the not-criminals (banished)? If you pay them you are part of the bourgeois, controlling others by controlling them through reward for doing your bidding.

We’re right back where we started.

    • n.n says:

They can be sequestered in the Mexican penal colony, along with the criminal illegal aliens. You know, out of sight and out of mind, like their energy, environmental, education, etc. policies. They could probably do the same with the generational class of welfare recipients.

  6. GoodMojo says:

I’m sure I’d be banished for “hate speech”. That would be a badge of honor.

  7. The Machine says:

Always refer to the existing Criminal Code, that’s what we were taught in LE.

Lessee, how about Obstruction of Justice?

Works fer me, um, “watch yer head…”
