Bonehead Of The Day

Either this man is senile, out-of-touch, simply clueless, or part of a liberal cabal bent on destroying the private sector in lieu of a dues-paying, Democrat-donating voting bloc.

It’s very clear that private-sector jobs have been doing just fine; it’s the public-sector jobs where we’ve lost huge numbers, and that’s what this legislation is all about.
Harry Reid, Senate Majority Leader (D-Nev.)

Meanwhile, I now live in the most well-to-do area in the nation because government workers make almost twice on average than a private sector employee. Remember Reid’s contempt when some government employee in a luxury car cuts and flips you off.

All of the above, Bob, ALL of the above.

He’s lied, cheated, and stolen his way to the top. Why stop now?

      100%

  • Tallyman

Lou Dobbs and Mark Levin have described him as demented. One of gutless Republicans should file a “Sense of the Senate” resolution to thank Reid for his service and remove him for dementia due to his age which makes him unable to represent the people of Nevada and debate and vote based on reality in the Senate.
They have secret allies in Little Dick Durbin and Chucky the Rat Schumer who crave more power and other Democrats who don’t want to defend this moron.

    We are the 93%.

On the other hand, when the government, at all levels, spends $7 trillion ($3.6 federal) annually (nearly 1/2 of the national GDP), the relation between the public and private sectors becomes confused. That’s a lot of economic power to be wielded by one class of our society, and it happens to be the authoritarian section. They should probably be held accountable for their distribution and consumption of taxpayers’ capital.

I am starting a union for the private sector. We will be fighting for the same benefits that the public sector enjoys. It is simply called the Private Union or PU.

The Private Sector lost 7.3 million jobs (doing well) and the Public Sector grew by 100,000 jobs (suffering). They actually believe they need more people to enforce regulations on fewer companies and workers…no wonder taxes have to go up.

How many (besides me) think we would be far better off now with Sharon Angle?

    Remember 2012

  • RockThisTown

In the town where I live (pop. ~10K) school parking lots are filled with late-model SUVs, Lexuses, Infinitis, Acuras, Avalanches, Ridgelines, and a few, ordinary, older passenger vehicles. Meanwhile, many folks dropping off their kids are driving older-model, run-of-the-mill, less expensive beaters. By all appearances here, public sector employees are doing better than working folks. The public sector should never, ever be more lucrative than the private sector, but that is exactly what is happening in our topsy-turvy country, contrary to Harry Reid’s delusions. The trade-off for the public sector being less lucrative is job security, because the public sector has the power to tax. Public sector jobs rarely go away, but private sector jobs change and disappear constantly.

This policy forced Central Falls, RI into default. What they failed to understand is that government is not analogous to a sports club, and that they were, in fact, negotiating to expand confiscation of taxpayers’ capital. Unfortunately, their taxpayers are not part of the 7%.

  • The Machine

When I was a lad at school, my teachers were driving used cars for the most part, many of those vehicles were patched-up and repaired numerous times, yet those old teachers managed to instill in us a work ethic and a love for the freedom that only The United States of America could offer.

The Constitution is not a suicide pact.

    • gagblue

You’re right, Machine – the Constitution isn’t a suicide pact, but Obama is a self-appointed Dr. Kevorkian who wants it to die prematurely.

    • n.n

Our nation governed by the Constitution, but a free society in general, requires a population capable of self-moderating behavior. The secular institutions have been progressive failures in conveying moral knowledge and, in fact, they have promoted dreams of instant gratification. Many also promote denigration of individual dignity and devaluation of human life. Unlike AGW/AGCC/”climate disruption”, and other marginally substantiated threats, the decline of our society was predicted through clear historical precedents.

EXACTLY, Good Mojo- the people of Nevada thought SHE was dumb…geesh! Sadly, he’s got his seat until 2016, and that’s both a horrible sahme and a real nightmare if you ask me.
