Open Thread Wednesday

Quite typical of today’s activist. Once they get what they want, they rub it in the faces of those who opposed them and don’t think it’ll stop here.

Marine Times is the last place I’d expect to see that cover. Glad I retired when I did because it’s about to get a whole lot worse.

  2. Mauser says:

Kind of demeaning to the other marines, as if they were responsible for the policy.

Gloating does not become a Marine.

  3. Igor says:

Sad to see this day, hopefully we will “get over” the current Duffer-in-Chief and rectify the situation.

    Semper Fi!

  4. Jewels says:

“get over it”? Isn’t the Times supposed to be neutral on the issue?

“roommates, showers and dates”? Do we get to learn how they keep their hair so fabulous, too?

Next issue: “Top ten ways to remove those disturbing love handles!” and “5 things your lover wishes you knew about lipstick!”

  5. Koala says:

Why is it glorified so much? Why does ones sexual preference become their identity instead of the person they were created to be?

It is odd that they would choose to be defined by their behavior. I am reminded of women who demanded they be treated as more than a “piece of meat”, which was subsequently followed by “slut walks”, etc. They may simply be confused.

Furthermore, I am surprised that this agenda was promoted by people who purportedly hold science, and, in particular, evolution, in great esteem. It’s as if they are incapable of distinguishing between productive and deviant behaviors. It’s as if they do not understand that some behaviors can be tolerated, while there is no legitimate reason to normalize them. It’s as if they do not understand the principal underlying evolutionary processes, which is to satisfy a fitness function; or, they define fitness of a species by criteria which is unrelated and incompatible with the natural order.

Let the experiment continue! Since their other social, economic, and scientific experiments have already been proven to be progressive failures.

I would love to remain neutral; but, ultimately, everyone must, and will, choose a position. It is my preference that I select a defensible position with a foundation described by an objective perception as is possible.

I know for a fact that there does not exist a neutral position for which a consensus could be found. Maybe for one issue or another, but not in whole.

In any case, it helps to start with an ideal, then adjust for reality. I, at least, have experienced favorable outcomes when following this method. Unfortunately, all too often, reality tends to overwhelm the ideal, and often for artificial reasons.

I guess it really depends on the axioms, principles, faith, etc., that people accept in order to guide their lives.

On a related note, there was a discussion of sex in human society and why people over time and today choose their behaviors. Is it possible that individuals who elect to participate in homosexual behaviors, do so simply to avoid the ultimate human responsibility for procreation? That would certainly be supported by a number of people’s efforts to normalize abortion of human life, which would facilitate a promiscuous lifestyle.

Mexico horror: Gunmen dump 35 bodies on avenue

Imagine the cartels as “rebels”. Coupled with a corrupt public sector. More and more, Mexico resembles a 3rd-world nation, a failed state.

“We’re here to preserve democracy—not to practice it.” – Capt. Frank Ramsey (portrayed by Gene Hackman), USS Alabama, from the movie “Crimson Tide”.

And it didn’t even take a day. On a friends Facebook page she posted a video of a “Soldier” telling his dad he’s gay while being video taped. I guess it’s supposed be be touchy feely pull at the heart strings stuff…however, I don’t know since about 1 minute into it I stopped watching. The reason? Who cares!!! I don’t care that some gay guy had a moment coming out of the closet to his dad. Now that his whole battalion knows he’s gay I hope he is happy. And I hope he doesn’t get negativity from it. But when you air your laundry to the ENTIRE WORLD expect some feedback that won’t be nice. On a side note, for some reason Hangover 2 lines kept popping in my head while typing this.
