Both Timmy and his debt are not selling well. I would guess that’s why Obama is pushing for coerced redistributive change again. Apparently, having failed to tax every living thing through “cap and trade”, and ostensibly not deriving sufficient revenue increases through the so-called “health care reform”, they have decided to further punish the pioneer, manager, and investor class; and, of course, the middle class will be the principle beneficiaries of their regressive policies. It is that latter group which is the principal supporter of equal economic opportunity, and it is they in number who support the people who enable that system.

I have already remarked numerous times on the differences between the realization of a left-wing ideological regime in the Soviet Union and America. Many people still do not understand why America has the potential to exceed the evil of the Soviet Union. It begins with the belief that instant gratification can be satisfied in perpetuity through redistributive change. It proceeds with the the belief that totalitarian policies can be substituted for moral knowledge. It ends with the loss of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, as the rule of law becomes progressively selective.
I haven’t read Hanson’s report in full, but I do agree with the excerpts posted at “market-ticker.org”. This is the what let-wing ideologues in general, but also others as they succumb to corruption, are manufacturing around the world, but especially in America as they seek to replace the old guard.
While corruption may progress from the head, it perseveres through the body, and it is sustained through individual efforts.
Oh, I forgot this bit of wisdom.

Since the portion of our economy which employs most of the population is composed of “small businesses”, this point is critical to remember when we consider government intervention into the market.
It was not a coincidence that an environmental group conspired with Philips and others in industry in order to force the “acceptance” of CFLs. Left-wing ideologues, and others with similar sympathies, are the ultimate capitalists, in that they seek to establish and enforce monopolies through the power of authority.
Cokie, has the look of the lady at the tournament whose champion, the Great Black Hope, was given his lance and immediately the toppled off his horse into a pile of manure and she and her Great Black Hope became the laughingstock of all present.
Whether Cokie likes it or not, there was nothing there to dispute. Keep those gums pressed tightly together!

I never thought Obama was even a particularly good speech-reader. During the ’08 campaign, my brother (who has a musical ear) did an imitation of his stodgy cadence that exactly captured what’s wrong with his delivery. Somebody else thought the monotonous cadence, along with the metronome-like turning of the head from one teleprompter to the other (along with certain rhetorical devices), was intentionally designed to be hypnotic. Maybe. But I don’t give him that much credit for cleverness.
