Work-Related Of The Day

For the next couple of weeks, environmental activists will converge on the White House to protest a proposed oil pipeline that will stretch from Canada to Texas. The activists plan to be really loud and annoying and hopefully get arrested in order to draw attention to their cause. B-actor Mark Ruffalo, the spiritual leader of the movement is scheduled to join the rally next week, but for the time being the protest has largely been populated with aging hippies who are calling for President Obama to put the kibosh on the pipeline which they claim will add to global warming. Of course, the pipeline will also likely lead to a lot of new jobs, but far be it for the environmental movement to concern themselves with 9% unemployment. MRCTV.org went down to the White House to talk to some of these activists and make fun of them when warranted.

Hey Ruffalo, why weren’t you at the loonfest? No cojones?

I have yet to here a salient argument for not building the pipeline. And watch out for those 12 to 18-foot sea level rises, bud…

    These people are logicphobes, knowwhutImean?

    Sad.

  2. Tallyman says:

This reminds me of the menagerie and freak show that was outside of the main circus tent. Didn’t he know Obama will raise his hands and the seas will not rise? Do they return to their caves or holes in the ground at night and eschew AC? How did they get transported to DC? Were they using evil transport devices powered by fire and generating carbon dioxide? The aged hippies have forgotten their beads and their weed to smoke. Turn off your AC, turn off your heat, eat only locally food, make your own clothes and show me how I should live..

Wow, there is a tag and release program for moonbats now. Are they going to track them and observe them in their native coffee shop environment?

So, let me get this straight because we have some wind farms somewhere killing ten of thousands of birds and bats each year, we don’t need oil any more. I sure what that old biddy thinks is especially cool is that none of those windmills is in her backyard.

I got as far as Mr. Uhm… uh…. (blank stare, head waggle) orange hat; just couldn’t take it.

I’m continually amazed at these people who are so quick and willing to “protest” whatever the cause-du-jour. Where do they get the money to travel to these “protests”, feed themselves, presumably pay their bills back home? Those first two look of an age to be retired, so, OK, I can see that… but still.

I’m also astounded that they’ll show up and “be angry” about a cause that they can’t even lucidly describe. I’m sure we could work them up to a frenzy about the dangers of the profligate use, waste, and willy-nilly distribution of hydrogen hydroxide.

  5. TexRex says:

I was wondering where all of the freakshows that usually infest Austin had gone to. Now I know.

  6. GoodMojo says:

Help! We are being overrun by a scourge of flakes, rubes, and nincompoops!
The intellectually corrupt pleading favor from the ideologically corrupt.

  7. The Machine says:

    To answer the questions:

    The Communist Party.

    Kinda obvious, actually…

  8. BRFan says:

As to the woman proudly talking about the wind farms, I wish the guy asked her if she was aware of all the birds and bats that are killed by them, including endangered eagles out in California. She probably wouldn’t care about the birds. It’s all about controlling people not protecting the environment.
I will say 2 of the protesters were somewhat coherent, wrong but coherent, in particular the short guy in the shirt and tie.
