There is a more sinister motive for this raid and action outside of what the DOJ is telling the press and Gibson.
If the DOJ can make this charge stick, precedent would be set for following laws in other countries that protect labor and its work rules – read union rules.
Gibson is small potatoes and will go unnoticed outside of the blogoshpere but might mean a lot for unions and international law – certainly, for the Obama justice department and its favorable treatment of unions in this country.
“Workers of the world unite!” That appears to fit here…

Why does Buffet kiss and pay up? Because he buys protection from prosecution and gets to make deals which an AG might convince a jury were not kosher. If Bank of America wanted to get money it could offer CD’s with a 2 to 3% interest rates and could raise as much money as the money received from Buffet and it would be paying half the interest rate. Instead BOA makes a deal which enriches Buffet and is approved by Obama. BOA is under investigation and knows that doing what Obama approves buys protection. For Buffet this is old hat as his muni-bond insurance moneymaker depended on favorable ratings from Moody’s of which Buffet was a major stakeholder. Buffet notes that Standard and Poors is being investigated in the mortgage derivatives and his Moody’s isn’t. Buffet is a wise capitalist swine who knows where he must pay to play..
Poor Gibson didn’t realize the shakedown is the Chicago way.
