The media describes the black vote as monolithic and Democrat, but the answers the MRCTV crew got from blacks in Washington, D.C. wasn’t exactly the expected slam dunk.
On June 29, 2011, President Obama held a combative news conference dealing with ‘raising the debt ceiling’. At one point, he said that Congress ran up the bills when trying to make the argument. Given the shaky economy and the blame game going back and forth, we at MRCTV went out and asked people what they thought about the current economy, who was to blame, and what needs to be done. Here are their responses.

I watched the entirety of the first video and a bit more than 1 minute of the second and I disagree with you Bob, it seemed like a slam dunk to me. Bush II and Nixon were named as worst presidents and Clinton and Obama as the best. The only thing that surprised me was a few of the respondents weren't hard on Bush about Katrina, particularly the comment by Kanye West.
If they were hard on Bush about Katrina, that would have been the slam dunk.
The thing that's scary about all this is the truly abysmal ignorance displayed by some of these people – ignorance created and maintained largely by the MSM.
Bush, for all his personal merits, was not serious about restraining spending (though he was abetted by RINOs as well), but blaming him for Ray Nagin's failures during Katrina.
If I had not already witnessed a great deal of willing ignorance on the part of otherwise rational people, I would be surprised that one man referred to the mythical “Clinton Surplus” (“zero debt”). Even such a prominent Democrat as Sen. Ernest Hollings decried the media's references to the bogus surplus.
Sheesh!
Clinton’s “balanced budget” was indeed smoke and mirrors, it projected revenues ten years out. Besides that, Clinton benefitted from the tax cuts that Reagan put into place, as well as the internet bubble, where we witnessed company’s stocks skyrocketing who were giving away services. Today, the sole survivor of that craze is Google, who figured out how to monetize free with teeny, tiny ads, and lots of databases!
By percentage, enough people in both videos displayed enough "staggering stupidity" to have us staring into the abyss. Just as we are.
I too noticed the appalling lack of thought process from the comments. Until the Great Unwashed Masses actually understand that Government is the problem and not the solution we are going to continue down that slippery slope, gaining speed.
The Great Train Wreck continues unabated.
Somedays I just want to dig a hole, crawl in, and save myself the trouble of dealing with the uninformed. I'm really worried about the upcoming elections and fear we are in for 4 more years of this bovine feces.
Well said.
