Liberal Celebrities Are Also Jet Owners

If the president and his Capitol Hill allies are going to cast a wide net to demonize corporate jet owners, then they shouldn’t be surprised at who ends up in that net.

Tom Cruise flies higher than the rest of us, literally. His Gulfstream IV arcs through the ether at 45,000 feet. The Gulfstream has been the alpha-male plane of choice for decades: Steve Jobs, Larry Ellison, Mark Cuban and John Travolta are owners.

Gulfstream and Boeing aren’t the only options, of course. Oprah Winfrey travels at just under the speed of sound in her new Canadian-made Bombardier Global Express XRS. So does Celine Dion.

Several celebrities have decided that the hassle and cost of ownership just aren’t worth it; pioneering fractional ownership company NetJets has attracted names like Jerry Seinfeld, Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts.

When it’s time to tax (and tax hard) we’ll see who jumps through the loopholes first.

    The difference is that it's the CORPORATIONS that own jets are eeeeviillll."
    Individual Hollywood stars who own jets – that's just peachy. See, they haven't plundered, pillaged & cheated to get their riches like corporations have.

    These libs must put their jets where their hearts are and sell the jets and send all the proceeds to Africa after giving a tithe to Lord Obama’s reelection campaign.
