So stupid, only Time Magazine would dare ask it.

  1. n.n says:

It only matters if it is coupled with a conveyance and acceptance of moral knowledge; otherwise, the establishment of a progressive totalitarian state (under any social compact) is inevitable.

We have a choice: moral principles or totalitarian policies. Of course, with the presence of deviants in our world, the first measure is incomplete, and the second measure is unavoidable (to a degree).

  2. GoodMojo says:

Bob, there are no stupid questions; just legions of stupid people asking them! :)

  3. Tallyman says:

It is a question asked to make the progressive drones think it is a valid question. They spout that we live under the rule of law and then deny there is some underlying basic law. We will replace the Constitution with sleazy lawyers in black robes thinking what laws ought to be for us and affirmative action Presidents carrying out their Marxist dogmas. The Progressive mantra: We all think a like and obey our progressive nobility.
When all think alike, no one thinks very much. ~Albert Einstein

  4. Hoss says:

Made me think of James Taranto (Wall St. Journal) and his segment called "Questions Nobody is Asking."

And Richard, we're the ones with most of the guns…

  5. RockThisTown says:

Liberals wish it didn't matter – and are doing everything possible to see that it doesn't.

Conservatives pray it continues to matter – and are doing everything possible to ensure it does.

  6. The Machine says:

Tell 'em to come on over and try to take MY rights away and see if it matters…

  7. n.n says:

There are a lot of people who prefer the natural order. At least they do while they are in power.

The problem with our Constitution is that in order to maximize individual liberty, it is necessary to properly convey moral knowledge and for, at minimum, the majority of the population to embrace it. With the reemergence of the secular faith, and other cults, which denigrate individual dignity and substitute totalitarian policies for moral knowledge, the pursuit of an enlightened order becomes progressively impossible.

We are well on our way to resurrecting rule through coercion that the secular cult is so well acquainted with.

  8. Dave J says:

I suggest the document is needed now more than it was when it was written. Then the concept lived in the hearts and minds of the founding fathers and others in places of power. Regrettably now many of those we have placed in power have no awareness of the concept and how to work to ensure Liberty.

  9. Trish says:

Liberals want it to go away, they don't appreciate the beauty and near perfection of this document.
Probably because they think they're smarter than the founders.
Probably because they long ago gave morals a boot in the butt and haven't acknowledged God in a long while.
Probably because their commie tendencies don't fit in our constitution.
Probably because they would prefer a dictatorship, if and only if they got to choose the dictator.

  10. Quik Hit says:

It obviously doesn't matter for THIS administration!
