    People is this country still bring up slavery comparisions on a daily basis, yet a large part of the 3rd world still practices involuntary bondage. Since these countries never heard of a middle class, the rich naturally assumes the poor are there to do their bidding.

    Walter Williams, an economist, was on Stossel's Unintended Consequences episode the day day before Goolsbee's departure. On the same show Stosssel also featured Charlie Rangel who said " If he's nearly as good as you, obviously, think he is I'm taking him to Washington with me."     The stimulus was a short-term decoy and entirely artificial. Unless there is a correction in the market, something that compensates for the massive distortions introduced by the government, then the hidden reality will progressively be revealed despite their best efforts to obfuscate their sabotage.

    I wonder if another war (of global proportions) is in the planning. Nothing less will be sufficient to reset the system. At least I don't think most people would voluntarily support the required correction. Well, we could always inflate the economy and hope it bursts long after everyone forgets the circumstances of its "well-intentioned" beginnings.
