I guess I and many others were out of line assuming Wazineh Suleiman was a potential victim of an honor killing just because she didn’t want to return home after resurfacing. Her husband was simply a victim of irrational and unjustified Islamophobia.
On Tuesday, Abed Suleiman invited several metro Atlanta media outlets to his home by e-mail, telling them that he and his wife, Wazineh, were back together and “happier than ever.” He said he wanted to dispel what he called were false stories regarding his family.
At the same time, Suleiman acknowledged, that during an exchange of text messages, he told his wife, “I’m gonna kill you,” if he returned and she wasn’t home.
I’m sure that kind of thing is said all the time between married couples and wives routinely take off for a few days because they know their husbands really aren’t serious.
Whatever possessed her to go back to this creep?!

Yeah, threats to kill your wife spread such happiness and joy. I can see how they’re ‘happier than ever’! It’s gotta spring from Abed’s forgiving, peace-and-goodwill-spreading, loving religious beliefs!
Beware of any man or woman who tries too hard
to “sell” their happiness or success. Anyone who
really has these things doesn’t need to do that.
I don’t think we have heard the last of this guy.
Yes, when the cameras are no longer turned on, it should be interesting to keep track of what’s going to happen. And it’s going to happen eventually.

This guy’s perfect American English makes him the perfect domestic enemy – a Jihaddi who could go off to become a martyr at any moment, leaving a dead wife behind.
She probably went home thinking she could protect her daughters . . . .
A lot of American girls are marrying these imports. Many will live just long enough to regret it.
Think of this as a domestic situation.
1. Guy threatens woman, he goes to jail.
2. Woman threatens guy and says threat was made in self defense, he goes to jail.
3. Guy appears before judge. Judge believes guy is SOB and either sends him back to jail or says he must move out of his home until court date.
4. No matter what the facts (as if the facts ever mattered in domestic cases), guy is always primarily at fault and branded for the rest of his life.
There have been a few high-profile cases in recent years where women disappeared with children or arranged for child(dren) to be hidden from courts claiming their husband/father of child was a molester. Even when the facts have proven otherwise, including the women’s total recanting of previous sworn statements, the guys were still branded for life by a skeptical court system. The women were, of course, excused from any wrongdoing.
The only other type of situations that are similar are those made by people who stage false claims of racial hate crimes such as hanging a noose from office door.
Oh, come on. “I’m going to kill you” is probably his little pet name for her. And there is absolutely no connection between that and the fact that he just suddenly decided to cancel his hunting trip and immediately come home. I’m sure it was all completely innocent.
And of course they are “happier than ever” because there is nothing that adds more to marital bliss than involvement with law enforcement.
