government shutdown. as whiny as some players and the player union can be, a good number of people in congress need to be slapped first
Given a choice, I would hope that the people we elect to run our country are responsible adults (yeah, right). I expect self-centered bitching and whining from our gladiator class.
Unfortunately, they’re basically interchangeable, with the exception of physical durability… damn, those politicians can last a loooonnnggg time.
That vote wasn’t a surprise at all!
I’m amazed at all you clueless people that voted for the NFL shutdown.
Bob, you got a lot of Progressive visits to this site, or what?!?!
Igor
Actually, I voted for the NFL lockout. There is a reason why the government is a necessary evil. This is especially true when our soldiers are serving abroad and in harm’s way. A message must be sent to the civil servants, and all beneficiaries of involuntary exploitation, and it should be comprehensive; but, it cannot be a wholesale slaughter.
The problem with government is their waste, fraud, and abuse. It is progressive corruption.
For the problems you stated, the Gubmint should be locked in a closet and only see the light of day when we “need” it. The bloated monstrosity we have now is uncontrollable and needs to go on a sadly needed diet. Notice I said diet, not “needs to be killed”. I recognize that they are a necessity, but you know the saying, “He who governs best, governs least.”.
