Silly me. I didn’t realize “Muslim extremist”- or any other kind of extreme, for that matter- was a race unto themselves. When did that memo come out?
I fervently hope Allen West goes against all kinds of ‘grains’.
I still say Mickey D’s should start the :”Toys-one-cent-with-purchase-of-Happy-Meal” program.

The elder progressives recognized that liberalism/progressivism/socialism destroys the human spirit. It’s unfortunate that their corruption exceeded their good judgment. So, what excuse can their contemporaries offer to justify their unrelenting pursuit of regression?

As I have taken the certification test (yesterday) to become a high school science teacher, these kinds of things will take on a personal aspect with me. Searching for Christmas, and the Missing Layoff Stories
It’s pathetic that there are fewer references to “Christmas shopping” and more “Christmas layoff” – talk about biased. But I don’t know if it really matters what the media says in this case. The term “holiday shopping season” is one of those terms that you read in the newspaper but never use in real life. It’s like “alleged assailant” when a person was caught red-handed and confessed, or “crash” because some idiot sued a local newspaper for using the term “car accident” to describe a case of vehicular manslaughter. I live and work around people who aren’t Christians, yet “Christmas shopping”, “Christmas tree”, and “Christmas wreath” roll off their tongues.
The only thing that bugs me is the term “Black Friday” for after-Thanksgiving shopping. That’s a retailer term and, frankly, I stopped caring about whether they stay in the black in 1995, when my girlfriends and I realized that every Christmas decoration in Target and every over-priced purse in Hudsons had a “Made in China” label. We wondered why we should buy a $120 pair of shoes that was made in sweatshops or a Christmas ornament that was manufactured in a country that put Christians in prison.

It’s not racial profiling. It’s just profiling. We all do it everyday. It’s interaction. People (everyone) have the ability to sense when something is not right. When you meet someone you profile them by what they say and how they act. The gov. agents take it to a different level than the every day people do. They ask more direct questions than is “appropriate for polite company”! Profiling works very well. Ask the Isreal’s !

When people can get the same return with less effort, most people make less effort. Plymouth settlers faked illness rather than working the common property. Some even stole, despite their Puritan convictions. Total production was too meager to support the population, and famine resulted.
Wow, deja vu. This is almost exactly what happened in the Soviet Union before the communist “elites” recognized the failure of their philosophy. Instead of acknowledging human nature, and embracing individual dignity, they attempted to control and manipulate people to realize the communist dream, which is incompatible with human progress… Well, aside from enriching the “elites” and their transient troupe of supporters anyway.
I suppose the lesson of history is that regression is periodic. Fortunately, we have some good people who are well aware of reality, including West and Palin, and they seem to possess the integrity required to avoid the corruption, which is nearly always coupled with a rise in societal status.
Good luck to the people, in both the public and private sectors, who are working to preserve individual dignity.

The media is going to use her for their own uses, she might as well get some cash out of it and do it on her own terms (even if it *is* DWTS). She’s got a kid to raise and there aren’t a ton of high paying jobs for high school grads in Alaska. (I hope she finishes her education.) Not like idiot baby daddy is going to step up to the plate and do the right thing. At least she had to work hard on something to learn all the dances.
