MoveOn Email Of The Day

This just ain’t gonna happen….

Cancel your Sunday plans
Dear Bob,
I wouldn’t ask if it weren’t important: Can you drop whatever you’re doing and sign up to volunteer TODAY for the (Democrat candidate) campaign? It’s not every day that I send an email to hundreds of folks I don’t know, asking you to cancel your weekend plans! Look, I know most of us use this time for things like chores and spending time with family.

Some of us morons watch football.

But right now is the biggest moment of the year for the future of our country. Really, this is it. We can all put off the laundry for a day or two, but the election’s not going to wait. The (Democrat) campaign is one of the closest and most important races in the country, and they’re getting out the vote right now. They need everyone within driving distance to come in and help out—or they’ll fall short.

Thousands of MoveOn members around the country are making calls and knocking on doors this weekend. Will you join us by volunteering for (the Democrat) in (your area)?

Yes, I’ll sign up to volunteer.

Sorry, I can’t.

Hope you can help out today.

Sorry, I’m busy laughing at y’all..

“Really, it is. No, I mean it. I’m not kidding. Really, the future of our country depends on it, seriously. It’s the biggest moment of the year. I’m not lying, really. I’m serious. Like, you know, the sky will fall if those eeeeevil Republicans gain control of Congress. Really.”

Hey MoveOn, I’ll be doing some laundry today – it can’t wait another day! Then I’ll be watching football. Then a nap. Or, I might clean out my sock drawer. Then, maybe a walk in the park with my kids. Maybe even go for some ice cream, and not Ben & Jerry’s!

Not surprisingly, MoveOn directs us first to abort our kids, but if we don’t do that, we should just ignore them so we can spend our time helping a liberal destroy our country. Not gonna happen at my house! I’ll be telling my kids the value of freedom, responsibility, self-reliance, low taxes, the rule of law, and small government.

The principles which allow individuals to help themselves and others, when they can and if they can. It’s amazing how effective promoting enlightened values can be to the progress of individual and societal health. The irony is that these principles are not progressive but traditional. Our ancestors knew of the preferred path (at least 2000 years earlier), even if they were not able to choose it in their time.

Government, and other authoritative bodies, have their place, but not for the purpose of redistributive change and the official denigration of individual dignity.

The promoters of collective dignity need to find a better compromise, or their own universe where they can exploit each other to their heart’s content. Let them conduct their great experiments in a setting which does not abuse its involuntary subjects.

Ummm. I was in Church most of the day. Praying for my Country, and that the people would choose Liberty instead of Death.

We shall see if God continues to bless America, we just have to do our part.
