I was suspicious of the fact that someone had enough clout to coordinate the schedules of a whole bunch of Hollywood celebs so they could appear in an advocacy video on breastfeeding. I was not alone….
Regardless of the grief received, I’ll always be suspicious of anything a liberal celebrity advocates because who knows who’s behind it, why, and if it’s really good for you or not.

I am howling with laughter over this one. Recently visited with family where both my eldest daughter and my DIL were breastfeeding. Their choice and they both have sizable sets. Better yet, if any government official tried to force it on them when they have to resort to bottles occasionally…….they would likely whack that official over the head with the pump or go south with the pump. Bob, boobs are a good thing, unless they are sponsoring legislation they haven’t written or read……….
The rationale is pretty simple Bob. Liberals, who think that Religious Conservatives are way too prudish, advocate public breastfeeding (Not just breastfeeding, but public – and without a cover blanket) because they think it will be a poke in the eye for them.
Which is funny, because it’s the left that gives us all kinds of censorship, from the Communications Decency act to the PMRC (Tipper Gore’s music censorship group).
It is true, I think, that some people advocate public breastfeeding simply to irritate those who think it shouldn’t be done. You might call them “militant breastfeeders.” However, as conservative as I am, I am a strong proponent of public breastfeeding (although out of deference to my husband, I didn’t do too much of it). Public breastfeeding is apparently currently out of favor because breasts are considered solely sexual, so women shouldn’t breastfeed because they might possibly show a little bit of breast, even though the average swimsuit or tank top, not to mention tabloid, magazine cover, or window advertisement shows much, much more. Apparently, because breasts are sexual, you can show almost all of the breasts as long as it is only in a sexy/sexual fashion, but if the purpose of baring one’s breasts (no matter how little is actually showing, nor how modest or discreet one is) is to feed a hungry baby, all of a sudden, it’s AAAAAHHHHH HORRIBLE!!! ONE INCH OF SKIN — RUN FOR THE HILLS!!!! However, as long as breasts are viewed as solely sexual, this will continue; so I support public breastfeeding in the hopes that the next generation will grow up seeing and recognizing the biological function of breasts, and also that this current generation will as well.
I said it before, and I’ll say it again — if they could handle public breastfeeding in church in 1871, at the height of Victorian prudishness, surely we in our “anything goes, micro-mini skirts, bare-midriff, barely-there-tops” society can handle a centimeter of skin.
I don’t think it’s the breasts the Liberals are protesting…I think it’s the babies.
Now that they have constructed an economic structure (i.e., “health care reform”) which will allow them to profit from the destruction of emergent human life and also from babies, I wonder which will be chosen as the preferred revenue stream.
Maybe the ad was merely the result of competing interests among liberals/progressives, or a reflection of changing attitudes in our nation.
Receiving blankets?
We need to start some kind of campaign to root George Soros out of our lives!
Now yer talkin’, GoodMojo! — keep that thought.
A smart man once summed up the Progressive process thus:
“If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. If it stops moving, subsidize it.” — Ronald Reagan
