Quote Of The Day

Even though the Tea Party isn’t an elected body but concerned citizens, the president appears to want us to do what he and some of his people behind closed doors refuse to do: explain themselves.

The challenge, I think, for the Tea Party movement is to identify specifically, what would you do? It’s not enough just to say ‘Get control of spending.’

I think it’s important for you to say, ‘You know, I’m willing to cut veterans’ benefits,’ or, ‘I’m willing to cut Medicare or Social Security benefits,’ or, ‘I’m willing to see these taxes go up’.
President Obama, town hall-style meeting on CNBC

If we’re expected to come up with all the answers, then I guess we don’t need to send a bunch of overpaid go-along-to-get-along types to The Hill, and if it takes him months to decide what to do regarding reinforcements to Afghanistan, then he’s the last person to demand anyone tell him what needs to be answered in a timely manner.

Oh, and Mr. President, your questions were answered months ago. Your media and activists continue to smear the Tea Party and you just don’t listen to ordinary people.

So, it appears that he’s faulting the TEA party movement because (sez he) they’re merely for “change” without spelling out, in precise detail, what “change” they/we want … this leads to the question:
    1) is it the lack of specifics (gee, I thought “No, you can’t (socialize America)!” was pretty specific)?
    2) OR, is it that they forgot to couple “Hope” with the “Change”?

He’s projecting again. Those are the programs HE wishes he could cut.

Well, that’s funny. No mention of family vacations.

    I understand. It’s about priorities.

    family vacation

    redistributive change (i.e., involuntary exploitation)

    family vacation

    amnesty (i.e., Democratic vote stimulus)

    family vacation

and so on, and so forth.
