I understood it when I was a little kid and getting a quarter for candy was a big deal. The state sales tax was 4% (or close enough) — such that when I carefully calculated my purchase to be exactly the $0.25 I was a penny short. So, I made my purchases in two parts in two different stores (and taight my younger siblings to do likewise).

Another group made similar accusations a couple of years ago against Palin, and, unfortunately for them, they failed to review the laws governing the transactions in question. I was surprised to learn just how much latitude members of government, especially civil servants, were afforded.
I would have thought that Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) would have its hands full while investigating Obama’s expenses and funding sources.

First, outside of the USA, there is inadequate (or no) publicly available information on station histories, yet these data are still used to create a “homogenized” global average surface temperature trend which reaches up to the “highest level of government”. Even in the USA, there are undocumented issues.
They still haven’t proven that current conditions are anomalous, and their recent data gathering has been demonstrated to be of questionable quality.
I would guess that a more reliable metric would be derived from observation of regional climate patterns over the short and long-term. It would also be more relevant to policy formation, which could be used to guide adaption to significant changes.
On a related not, I would like them to admit, on record, their role in mandating the CFL. Do they only support low efficiency, highly toxic, limited deployment solutions? Do they understand the concept of viable solutions determined by context, or do they believe that population control will pick up the slack?

Nicolas, what matters is the thought, not the messenger. If people choose to vote for someone based on anything other than their principles, then it doesn’t matter what motivates their self-betrayal. However, we must acknowledge that it is unlikely that any other individual will be of the same-mind. The goal is to associate with others of like-mind on issues in the priority that you choose. That is the best we can do, since we lack the capability to divine intentions.
