He goin’ draw hiz gonz now.

    An’ busta cap.

  2. n.n says:

    An Investment in Failure
    (via Dr. Sanity)

Blacks are to the left today what the working class were to Marx in the 19th century — pawns in an ideological game.

Nothing is free. Not even failure.

Dr. Sanity adds some complementary insights. A tale of regression and mortal gods.

Brilliant! I guess the plan is to destroy society, so they can claim progress in its resurrection. They must be concerned about their immortal legacy, or something.

The moderate Muslim, moderate Christian, moderate Jew, et al, the American conservative.

    MissJean:

No more Wagyu beef? But that’s Obama’s choice de jour.

    Tales of the $100 steak

Ultrapremium Wagyu beef gets better — and pricier

Well, I’m impressed. Does that also mean trips to Europe are out, or is this newly discovered austerity designed for main street?

  4. MissJean says:

Labor Secretary: ‘There are jobs out there’
There ARE, but not many. On Thursday, a United Way volunteer told us about how businesses are hiring via word-of-mouth instead of ads because too many people are applying. He told us about an insurance agent who needed to replace two people who’d retired. More than 100 people were waiting on the lawn when the agent showed up to work the weekend after the ad ran. He said local machine shops are hiring by sharing recommendations with other shopowners. So Shop A hires the laid-off employees of Shop B.

The irony of Jesse Jackson’s stripped SUV
I don’t know that it’s ironic as much as another clue that police need to set up traps for car-strippers and prosecutors need to slam them hard. Make it less attractive for former autoworkers to move to the “resale” end. :)

Calif. wildfire sparked by migrants’ signal blaze
Is this what Calderon meant by his immigrants’ contributions?
They’re just saving firefighters’ jobs. And evidently in Mexico, there is no Smokey El Oso.

    Vanity Fair… admits error…
It wasn’t an error. He was told the truth and deliberately ignored it, assuming the woman he misrepresented would let it lie. Or maybe he assumed she wasn’t sophisticated enough to read VF, let alone contact someone.

Was Palin Gay-Baiting When She Referred To VF Writer As “Impotent And Limp”?
If you’re a writer insecure that someone will discover your lack of journalism skills (and that you can’t get it up), she probably was saying, “I can smell your gay fear.” For the rest of us, she was just making a reference to his cowardly, weak way of slagging her and her family. That VF writer tracked the Palin children and referred to them props to show Miss Sarah’s maternal side. As far as I’m concerned IF he has balls, he ought to turn them into his local Man Committee and his Man Card ought to be revoked.

    Choices Ahead For Today’s Unions
The problem is that union members are increasingly disgruntled with their leaders’ inability to see reality. “Equitable pay” is a laugh when teachers know that a property-tax hike just means their district’s families will eventually lose their homes to back-taxes. Or as someone put it, if teachers should be paid the same state-wide, start by convincing Grosse Pointe teachers to take a paycut down to rural district levels.

Islamic Group Asks Army to Deny ‘Traitor’ GI’s Request for Conscientious Objector Status
I’m not surprised. Remember the chick who tried to walk away after a college education and flight school? I remember her only because she was trashed left and right by females who served.

Democrats add fiscal austerity as a campaign issue
Switching filet mignon for the lobster, are they?

Islamic Group Asks Army to Deny ‘Traitor’ GI’s Request for Conscientious Objector Status

    Here is their website:

    http://www.aifdemocracy.org

    In the About AIFD section:

“AIFD seeks to make a small contribution to the body of thought which articulates an understanding of Islam which separates religion and state and is in complete harmony with the U.S. Constitution and our citizenship pledge.”

“Through regular commentary AIFD will intellectually stand against the religious fanatics who exploit the religion of Islam for a nihilistic, anti-American anti-Western war.”

“AIFD was formed as an unmistakable expression of American liberty and freedom in an attempt to take back the faith of Islam from the demagoguery of the Islamo-fascists.”

Don’t know anything about them other than this website, but it is interesting that we always hear about CAIR but never about AIFD.

  6. n.n says:

    Uncle Rick:

The New York taxi cab driver who was attacked by the liberal lunatic was a Muslim who did not support the Cordoba Initiative. While an individual’s religion will influence their ideology, it does not necessarily determine it. For example, there are a lot of American Christians, and Jews, for that matter, who support progressive involuntary exploitation — whatever happened to charitable works?

  7. n.n says:

ALAN GRAYSON: Glenn Beck 8/28 Rally Participants Were Wearing Sheets Over their Heads 25 Years Ago

    Democrats infiltrated the rally?

Labor Secretary: ‘There are jobs out there’

So, the various stimuli were, in fact, slush funds.

White House considering emergency economic stimuli

Another slush fund. They must be desperate.

Radical Islam is world’s greatest threat – Tony Blair

I am also concerned about their ideological counterparts in American liberalism/progressivism.

    Choices Ahead For Today’s Unions

Does power corrupt, or do corrupt people seek power?

Islamic Group Asks Army to Deny ‘Traitor’ GI’s Request for Conscientious Objector Status
    Interesting

Said Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser, president of AIFD: “Abdo’s actions are an affront to every American Muslim who has proudly donned a U.S. military uniform. His assertions are not built on Islamic teachings but on a feeble adherence to the global political ideology of Islamism that threatens our security and radicalizes our Muslim youth.”

    Muslim and Right.

“The Army recognizes that even in our all-volunteer force, a soldier’s moral, ethical or religious beliefs may change over time,” an Army statement read.

Are they insane? The Army is running a noncontributory entitlement program.

  8. Uncle Rick says:

“Islamic Group Asks Army. . .

Bravo Zulu to AIFD. I didn’t know such Muslims or such Muslim organizations existed. I’m glad to learn that they do and hope to hear more from them and about them.

I realize that this could just be posturing and they don’t really mean it. However, if that were the case, we’d probably see a lot more of it from outfits like CAIR. The fact that we don’t gives us two important clues. First, the average Muslim organization isn’t clever enough to figure out how to assume a credible posture that belies their real objectives. Second, there is such a thing as a thinking, moral Muslim.

If only we could find more of them.
