Sadly, we’ve seen how the deliberate public vilification of Islam can lead some individuals to violence against innocent people.“
CAIR back to its old Muslims-are-mistreated-like-blacks-were pity party but when it comes to “hate speech”, who do you think Nihad was alluding to?
Since we now know Michael Enright is a lefty film student who lives with his parents, there’s gotta be a reason he flipped out because progressives don’t hate, right?
What We Know About Michael Enright, The Alleged Slasher Of The Muslim Cabbie
“Alleged”…?
There’s a man who’s in the hospital whose throat was slashed and has defensive knife wounds. I’m not a lawyer, but as there was no one else in the cab when the attack happened (knowing the media as we do), if the slasher were a conservative, Republican, or Tea Party member, the word “alleged” would not appear anywhere in the story.
Michael Enright is a film student at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan and has been working with the Intersections International, an interfaith and multicultural effort which seeks to promote justice and peace. The project’s website is strongly supportive of the Cordoba House project in lower Manhattan and videos of its leader, Imam Faisel Rauf, are posted on their website.
Since Enright previously shot a documentary in Afghanistan, we’re going to hear the post-traumatic stress disorder excuse because we also know liberals are totally incapable of hate and violence.
Watch this story unfold, complete with excuses for his motivations, a revisit of alcoholism-is-a-disease, and it was the escalation of right wing hate rhetoric that polluted this “baby-faced” man’s mind and consumed him with Republican hate, or some bullshit like that.
I blame Bush.
Or maybe even the Tea Party.
Or (it’s indeed a stretch), PTSD or the “disease” of alcoholism.

I think it was this guy’s intent to slash and run. Then the speculation could have run wild about the attacker being a right wing loony, (obviously) violently against the GMZ.
Too bad for the nutcase that the cab driver had enough of his wits about him, to lock the left wing loony in the cab until the cops came.
And, yes, now the excuses will begin.
Maybe the victim is an American Conservative. Maybe the victim thought that it is insensitive for the Cordoba Initiative to construct a mosque near Ground Zero. Maybe the victim is of a different Islamic sect than the members of the Cordoba Initiative.
Since Enright was a supporter of the Cordoba Initiative, he may have reacted violently when he realized that a Muslim may disagree with his position. Not unlike the ageless conflict that exists among the various Islamic sects, and, in particular, the conflict between Shia and Sunni Muslims. The Shia certainly have sufficient reason to distrust their Sunni brothers.
This wouldn’t be the first time that a zealot would resort to extreme tactics to resolve irreconcilable differences.
There is something very fishy about this whole story.
I find it hard to believe that the accused really attacked this man just because he was muslim. Enright seems to be about as pro-GZM as you can get. Something is not right.
I have a few theories about this. Two of which have already been mentioned by thinking and n.n. Like thinking, I wondered if Enright attacked the guy and then expected to run off and never be identified. (The problem with that is that he risked the real possibility of serious jail time and lefties are rarely that commited. However, he was supposively drunk so maybe he didn’t think it out.) And the other idea I had was the one n.n brought up that maybe he attacked the cabbie because he expected the him to agree with him and he didn’t. As we know, many real moderate muslims oppose this mosque.
But I have another theory, admittedly a wild one, that I am also wondering about. What if the attack never happened? From what I have seen, the cabbie’s wounds were pretty superficial. I might be wrong. However, in all the stories I have read about this, there are no mention of stitches. And the picture of him today just shows a bad cut on his lip–no tape, stitches, or even a bandaid. One article described the knife used in the attack as one used for leather crafts–kind of a strange thing for a preppy lib kid to be carrying around. I also read that this was the cabbie’s first fare of the day. We know that Enright was extremely drunk. Is it possible that the guy got into the cab without ever looking at the cabbie, not noticing that they guy was already bleeding? Just a weird thought. Of course, the problem with this theory is that it depends on the extremely bad luck of the cabbie picking someone who happens to be working on his side (well, if he has a side).
Of course, the other joker in the deck could be that Enright is on some sort of anti-depressant and just flipped.
It will be interesting to see how this turns out.

I think that Watergate has already been eclipsed by the various conspiracies since the Democrats took power. Why not one more. It would certainly be less expensive then their other staged productions.
The knife was described originally by police as being a Leatherman Tool.

Not exactly a first pick as an offensive weapon, but we’re talking a leftoid here.
There’s an old saying in police work that goes, “You study long, you study wrong.”
Meaning that Occam’s Razor always applies to the crime scenario, if you have to go into long and involved thought-scenarios as per the above, you are generally barking up the wrong tree.
I would, however, buy the one about the perp figuring he could get away, not knowing about the cab’s door lock from frontseat situation.
He’s actually very lucky he just didn’t get blasted. Many cabbies carry the ubiquitous cold piece for just such a scenario.

I was just thinking of the type of conspiracies that the jihadist do on a regular basis in the Middle East such as the border shoot out that the Lebanese government set up a couple of weeks ago, the “Peace” flotilla set up by the Turkish authorities, or the staged films that are produced by the Palestinians which the Israelies have dubbed “Pollywood.”
Either way they are going to use this GZM as a propaganda tool. If it is built they will have a recruitment tool in site of their greatest victory in the west. And if it is not built they will use it as proof of the US’s war against Islam. It is now a lose-lose situation. However, I would prefer the one that displays our strength by refusing to submit, over the one where we just roll over, wag our tails, and say, “please don’t hurt us.”
Looking at the perp, it might be a case of PMS. Just saying!
