First, it seems culturally insensitive to reminisce about an old muslim empire which once occupied the Iberian peninsula.
Second, why wouldn’t the government claim eminent domain to reclaim one of the most valuable pieces of real estate in the world, and rebuild the World Trade Center? They have used that power to confiscate the common people’s businesses, farms, homes, etc. So, why would they change their modus operandi now? Especially when the real estate in question has an extremely productive and profitable history.
Finally, the best tribute to the memory of those who died on 9/11 during an exceptional slaughter waged my Islamic extremists, would be to rebuild the World Trade Center, larger and grander than before, which would invite additional trade and financial interests to New York.
It doesn’t seem that Bloomberg has the best interests of New York at heart.

Here was the timeline of MY view of the Sherrod thing.
1.) Video released, I was angry. My anger at the NAACP is still there, because it was obvious that they were delighted and enjoying the prospect that she screwed a white farmer.
2.) Came to light that she then said that she reconciled and helped him out. Then I felt sympathy for her. I can understand getting thrown under a bus for out of context comments. It happens to people like us all the time. But I was still wobbling because it was clear that she, apparently, at one time, DID screw people just because of their skin color.
3.) That sympathy was short-lived, when further video of that speech came out where she was deriding tea partiers as mean-spirited because it was a black president, and they were protesting him. So, basically, she was saying they should just roll over and let him have his way with the country because his black skin is a shield. She also managed to villify, and once again smear a bunch of individuals as racists.
*POOF* Gone was any sympathy I felt for her.
THEN there is some kind of questioning as what she was really doing in her position at the Ag department, and the amount of money her budget was, as well as some lawsuit she was a recipient of. Since I don’t know all the facts, I’ll not go into it much more than that, but it seems she wasn’t as innocent as she claims to be.

Is any of this surprising? Which of you fools actually believed “Mine will be a post-racial Presidency”? I think he meant “most” racial. Yesterday there was a piece posted in The B&R Thursday Edition about dems trying to explain their earlier votes & positions through early ads. If they do get voted out of power and then vote on more radical pieces of legislation in the lame duck session, the Republicans would be wise to 1) remind voters of this in the 2012 election and every election after that and 2) not do this themselves when they are in control but in trouble of losing the house

It was interesting to watch Glenn Beck last night; how he had a timeline about how the Obambi Administration had fired her even before her video was broadcast all over Fox News. Then, as usual, it was all Fox News’s fault she got hung out to dry – according to the Lamestream Media.
Fox has been trying to get her to come on (O’Reilly, Beck, etc.) but she seems to be camped out at CNN. I wonder why?
Also, I’m surprised (not!) that she didn’t give a nod to Glenn Beck coming to her defense when he said she’s being cast in a different light. While he was more than willing to give her the benefit of the doubt and say that she’s changed, I notice yesterday that she really hasn’t changed much. Still liberal in her thoughts, actions, and speech, and of course The One is “still her President” and she’s gone into attack mode on us conservatives – no doubt being heavily coached by ?? on this behavior.
