Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, a Democrat from Texas, raised some eyebrows yesterday with remarks she made referring to “two Vietnams.”
Nat Thomas, a spokesperson for Jackson Lee, said she clearly misspoke.
More like she didn’t know what the hell she was talking about: history.
While this is clearly a partisan observation and request, can we get some black conservatives onto The Hill to replace these ignorant, Guam “tip over and capsize”, “good and welfare clause” embarrassments?
So she really meant North Korea & South Korea are living side by side in peace?
Tell that to the 46 S. Korean sailors who just got blown away by a N. Korean sub a few months ago.
I was watching the TV interview with her, and the interviewer asked “Where were the Tea Party was when Bush was in office”.
Yes, Bush did some gad awful things, but not to the degree this guy is, and with full backing of a partisan congress.
I know the thing that finally woke me up was seeing the video interview of Geithner of them desiring a bill that required mandatory service of children all the way up into their mid 20s to “earn citizenship”. Obama’s private army. First thing I thought of was Hitler. Scared the crap out of me.
The second thing that motivated me was when I passed this information along and made the policy paralells, I was told “HOW DARE YOU COMPARE HIM!”
That was the last straw for me.
He’s not god, nor is he king, and last I looked I lived in a supposedly free country, and by golly I want to return it to a time of even more liberty so our children can benefit from it.
Damn it, I want a future!!

A lady who is well-spoken, articulate, intelligent, and conservative. It’s not surprising that the Democrats do not want to compete with her.
Not sure whether you already posted something about this, but the Dems in IL are trying to block Tea Party candidate Cedra Crenshaw from running.

If you understand that she considers herself to be on the side of the North Bietnamese Communists, then her statement that, “victory had been achieved” makes perfect sense.

It should be offensive to all descendants of the people who fought and died for the preservation of our Constitutional Republic and the correction of the original compromise. Sheila Jackson Lee not only does not know history, but she desecrates the memories of people’s ancestors who made the ultimate sacrifice so that she, and all Americans, would have liberty.

There might be a few black conservatives elected in November. As to Lee, Conyers and Hank Johnson they are in very safe Democrat districts. The Cook PVIs are:

SJL is a sorry excuse for a representative of the people. What Mr. Thomas is calling “misspoken” what my grandmother would call stupidity. To call SJL an ignoramus is too kind.
Sheila, here’s a handy tip for you: Better to keep your mouth shut and be thought an idiot rather than . . . well, you know the rest.
Not to mention she denigrates the legacy of the people who advocated, and fought, against the enslavement of other human beings.
As for the Vietnam, Koreas transposition, they all look the same, right? It’s an easy mistake to make, especially when there are over a billion of them.
She’s also overtly prejudiced. Not exactly an exemplary representative of a “progressive” constituency.
