The forks or the degenerates?
I am a life-long supporter of forks; although, I must admit to a predilection for chopsticks (there is something quite elegant in their use). However, when you absolutely must consume that meal, and time is of the essence, then forks are the preferred utensil. As for the white dwarfs, I prefer to think of the white holes, as in productive, with a destructive dualism — the schizophrenics of the celestial world.
That’s odd. I usually don’t resort to whimsical musings until after midnight. I don’t think I realized just how long this week has been.
Here we go…
The funny part is, that whether we change the name or not, the physical phenomena of a black hole which absorbs matter and energy, and dark (or black) pigmented skin which absorbs visible light, will not change. The best path forward, is to stop associating unrelated matters. And, context does matter. That’s why, for example, forks are not considered lethal weapons; although, they could potentially be used to end a life.

Okaaay… I can see how “holes” may have been misheard as “whores”, those cards aren’t always clear. However when did African-American women become “planets”?

I will not buy another Hallmark card for the simple reason that they caved to these idiots. People who find racism in every nook and cranny out there (and this one was a hard-to-find nook) where none exists are losing their credibility by the minute. 0
Here’s an idea: how about finding & combating racism where it really exists, not where you have to wait 3 years to find it, and then only on a stretched enunciation of one word. These people should have “stupid” painted across their foreheads.
I think I’m even angrier at Hallmark for giving in to these morons. It only encourages them.

Guys, remember a while back there was a complaint about calling it a black hole. One group tried to call that racist.
I had a carpooler who once said that a man called him and demanded an apology because he insulted him in an email. What was in the email. My friend called this man on the carpet for reneging on an agreement. This man thought that reneging was a racist slur. Luckily my friend had a dictionary next to him and he read the definition to him. He just said oh.
If you want to find it it will be everywhere. But then what type of life will you have when everything is against you?
I also agree that as long as the black leadership does nothing about the hip-hop and rap music then they need to shut up about everything else. If it is bad one way, it is bad the other way too.

When you either apologize or comply, you admit you did something wrong. You give the accusers credibility and power. And give power to other people who bring up frivolous accusations.

Maybe not, but science, language, and Hallmark, are running scared.
Frankly, as destructive as black holes can potentially be, I am just as concerned about white holes:
A hypothetical hole in outer space from which energy, stars, and other celestial matter emerge or explode.
The risk that it would spew forth an endless stream of liberals cannot be underestimated. In all likelihood, it could signal an extinction level event for all humans who have their feet firmly planted in reality, and the destruction of the Earth upon which they reside.
Just in case anyone missed it, I referred to “white holes”, and NOT “white whores”… nor “whore of the worlds”… nor “whore and peace”… nor “all is fair in love and whore”. In any case, while there is legitimate reason to be “whored” about persistent malignant prejudice, I don’t believe that black holes, or even white holes, pose an immediate threat. With the recent confrontations in the Middle East, and others around the world, the most imminent threat is a looming “whore”.
Don’t “whorē”. Be happy.
The LA NAACP should go after the astronomical community for naming them “black holes” in the first place. Why stop with Hallmark. Weren’t these scientists sensitive enough to know that this could be construed as racist. There aren’t any “white holes”. And the whole “hole” vs. “ho” or “whore” thing. I mean really. They must have known that someone would mispronounce it and cause so many people grief.
It must have been offensive to have been taken out of these science textbooks for these NAACP leaders, since they didn’t seem to know what a “black hole” is. Why not strike it from the entire world, so no one gets offended?
I just think they are swinging too low on this one. Go all the way to the top to stop such racist activity stemming from what is supposed to be the academic community. Justice must be served for these purveyors of racism at any costs!!

Obviously the people complaining didn’t take REAL science classes. Must have been social science, ethic arts, etc… Try Astronomy or Geology or Physics. A REAL science. ugh…ignorance isn’t bliss…it’s living in darkness wishing someone would bring a light instead of lighting the candle yourself right in front of you.
