Email Of The Day

Isn’t this refreshing…

The doctor had his TV on in his office when the news of the military base shootings at Ft. Hood, TX came on. The husband of one of his employees was stationed there.

He called her into his office and as he told her what had happened, she got a text message from her husband saying, “I am okay.” Her cell phone rang right after she read the message. It was an ER nurse,” I’m the one who just sent you a text, not your husband. I thought it would be comforting, but I was mistaken in doing so. I am sorry to tell you this, but your husband has been shot 4 times and he is in surgery.”

The soldier’s wife left Southern Clinic in Dothan, AL and drove all night to Ft.Hood. When she arrived, she found out her husband was out of surgery and would be OK. She rushed to his room and found that he already had visitors there to comfort him.

He was just waking up and found his wife and the visitors by his side. The nurse took this picture.

What? No news crews and cameras? This is how people with class respond and pay respect to those in uniform.

I sent my cousin in Fayetteville, N.C. (Retired from Special Forces) that picture of Geo. W. visiting the wounded at Ft. Hood. I got this reply:

What is even better is the fact George W. Bush heard about Fort Hood, got in his car without any escort, apparently they did not have time to react, and drove to Fort Hood. He was stopped at the gate and the guard could not believe who he had just stopped. Bush only asks for directions to the hospital then drove on. The gate guard called that “The President is on Fort Hood and driving to the hospital.”

The base went bananas looking for Obama. When they found it was Bush, they immediately offered escort. Bush simply told them to shut up and let him visit the wounded and the dependents of the dead.

He stayed at Fort Hood for over six hours, and was finally asked to leave by a message from the White House.

Obama flew in days later and held a “photo” session in a gym, and did not even go to the hospital.

All this I picked up from two soldiers here who happened to be at Fort Hood when it happened.

This Bush/Obama/Ft.Hood story is something that should be sent to every voter in the US.

Those who wanted “change” certainly got it.

Yes, I DO miss him yet.

Treating the people who choose to serve, suffer, and die for our country with dignity. What a novel concept. No one is perfect, but this is certainly an admirable trait. This is independent of the conspiracy theories and dissent, which would label it otherwise. There are moments which create their own context.

Common occurrence by W at the Ortho Ward at Walter Reed based on first hand accounts. Was there one day and there was the evil Rumsfeld with no one but the Command Sergeant Major. He went in all the rooms of the wounded and stay for a LONG time with each one. It was such a regular event that the staff was not in the slightest way surprised or excited.

Ah class. How I miss seeing it in the White House.

interesting, very interesting the contrast between Bush & Obama.

speaking of the incident, I fired off a text to a buddy of mine serving in the army. he replied that night that he was ok, was at another texas base and that his base had sent guys to Hood for training maybe a battalion or so. told me none of his guys were harmed, so that was good to hear. for me personally that was a tough night. Was happy about Bob and Cory’s outing to the capital, meeting Jon Voight, yet FURIOUS of the incident…really…REALLY was a tough night for me

Just a fyi, this story is a stylized version of one at snopes.com, complete with photo. I doubt the authenticity of this.

I was thinking of Snoping this. While some of this may have been over-dramatized, Snopes poses as an independent fact-checker while they do have very partisan Democrat leanings.

I certainly felt much safer with this man in office…..

Was he really? Asked to leave by the WH? I’m SURE there are many other explanations other than the possible embarrassment if the visit became known. (insert shifty eyes here)

George W. Bush Secretly Visits Fort Hood Victims

    By Bill Sammon

    Published November 07, 2009

    FOXNews.com

Former President George W. Bush and his wife Laura secretly visited Fort Hood last night and spent “considerable time” consoling those who were wounded in Thursday’s shooting spree, Fox News has learned.

The Bushes entered and departed the sprawling military facility in secret, having told the base commander they did not want press coverage of their visit, a source told Fox News.

The couple was described as “deeply concerned” about military families on Fort Hood after Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan allegedly opened fire on soldiers and civilians, killing 13 and wounding 38.

The Bushes, who have a 1,600-acre property known as Prairie Chapel Ranch less than 30 miles from Fort Hood in central Texas, spent between one and two hours visiting the wounded and their families.

And what did I say about snopes….?

  12. n.n says:

Since it is the liberal establishment that the people in power are attempting to preserve, I would have to question the authenticity of Snope’s self-interested documentation of the event. When it comes to parties desperate to preserve their ill-gotten gains, then it is better to to assume their statements are false, or misleading at best, and continue to prove them true, or reject them for lack of supporting evidence.

The left-wing in particular is famous for its fanciful narratives. Their observation of selective history, selective science, and selective morality has truly condemned their credibility.

  13. OldnyFirefighter says:

It happened exactly as Fox News reported & they were not escorted by SS personnel. GW & Mrs. Bush made the trip by themselves & have done similar visits to our Soldiers before. If “O” did this I would probably die from the shock. “O” thinks about nothing other than how he looks for his Publicity Photo Shoots & could care less about our Soldiers.

FYI, Laura Bush is a Compassionate Lady in every respect & I got that info from someone that saw

  14. OldnyFirefighter says:

“Power Failure” ? — Lara Bush almost every day during GW’s term in office. I was told she was kind to all staff & treated everyone like a friend.

  15. Richmedia says:

It seems to me that the picture tells it all. To say nothing about the lack of the picture of Obama.

  16. spoilsport says:

I think W compromised a lot of his principles just to get alont with the dems while he was in office. However, he still acted with class and honor with the troops. This picture shows that he still honor them. The dimwit in the office now has not one ounce of class. That goes double for his ugly, evil and hateful wife!!!!!

  17. cmblake6 says:

Ain’t no doubt in my military mind that W would do this. None. The current Communist in Command doesn’t give a rat’s rectum for anything but a photo-op. W wasn’t perfect, but he was so far beyond what we have now it’s insane.
