I like Randall Paul. He’s a very nice man (and one of my relatives eye doctors). Problem is, he let Maddow the ox twist words and back him into a corner. It’s very easy to make principled people (good principles) look like “bad” people in today’s world of dillusion. By the way, Rachel, property rights ARE an integral part of human rights. Oh, and Rachel, we know you ARE NOT a principled person. You will stoop at nothing, including sexual innuendos, to amuse or promote yourself and your self-perceived superiority.

I was reading some comments to an article about this, and naturally, people started attacking him saying that things would still be segragated today if it weren’t for that…

Oh, wait, things are STILL segragated today…but it’s only allowable if it’s the CHOSEN ONES doing the segragation. Like black colleges, who can openly call themselves black colleges and not be attacked. BET. What if we had an WET? Black Miss America pageant. Even if a beautiful, composed white woman entered, she would never ever win, because it’s a black contest. How about all the college scholarships for black students that I wasn’t allowed to apply for because I was the wrong skin color? I could have really used a scholarship.

And politicians are really faddish in their chosen ones, too. You notice all the programs now aimed at promoting muslim students? What about mexican outreach?

These normally wouldn’t bother me, because, like Rand, I DO believe that private entities should be allowed to do as they will with thier own property. These DO bother me, however, for the pure fact that only the privelaged, chosen segments of the population are allowed to do it, but not the “evil white majority”.

It seems that white people are the ones today that are the population that it is acceptable to misuse, abuse, accuse, etc.

I don’t believe this should be done to ANY human being.

There may have been a point in time where people needed a nudge, but at some point the training wheels need to come off.

Rand’s biggest problem is trying to have a principled, intellectual conversation with a bulldog with a pea for a brain.

I didn’t mean to insult peas. At least they have nutritional value, as opposed to what comes out of Maddow’s mouth.

“Pirates terrorize boaters on Texas lake”
Why not? Who is going to stop them?

    ‘Aging Congress flummoxed by ATMs’
A great argument for term limits.

    Obama’s (Axelrod’s) Choreographed Media Blackout
    “He’s a both a bully and a pussy. That’s right, I said it”
    Ouch!!

“Getting Lectured on Human Rights by Mexico”
What’s next on the lecture series?
    -Elizabeth Taylor on marriage?
    -Ted Kaczinsky on hygiene?
    -Hugo Chavez on humility?
    -Mexico on discriminatory immigration law?

“Kevin Costner may hold key to oil spill cleanup”
Good idea. Too bad a huge conglomerate like BP would not have any contingency available. Nice to see a celebrity putting money into something besides Greenpeace.

“WWII Vet Ordered to Remove American Flag From Outside New Hampshire Home’
A slow boil is starting, that’s for sure. Even the most docile and quiet people have a line in the sand that better not be crossed.

“Tea Party Pick Causes Uproar on Civil Rights”
I understand the private property component argument of the civil rights bill that caused Barry Goldwater not to vote for it even as he was very aggressive against institutional racism. But you cannot win this argument, it was attached to the civil rights bill, which is landmark legislation. Rand Paul should have been smart enough not to get into this game because he cannot win. Does this guy have a P.R. person? Al Gore Sr. voted against the civil rights bill, but, mysteriously, that never came up when Al Gore was VP and running for President.

    “Goodbye, Employer-Sponsored Insurance’”
If you’re a business trying to cut costs, this is a no brainer.

I also must say, that the road to hell is paved by “good intentions”.

In this case, political intentions, are paving a highway to hell. Nothing like trying to created divisions and pit person vs. person to score themselves brownie points.

  4. crowhorse says:

I have to say, whever I read this stuff, I just get more and more disgusted with both media and politicians. But I stopped watching the media in the middle of their two years worth of blatant favoritism of the elections, but unfortunately, I have to watch the politicians if I want to know what kind of burdens they are trying to put on me next.

  6. Ilion says:

I’ve always questioned the intelligence of the Paulies

All libertarians are (at least) border-line insane.

However, the specific objections they tend to raise about “civil rights legislation” are well-founded.

  7. Nicolas says:

now that I can get to a computer, for the small time being, Bob, funny the headline says “Should We Now Call Him ‘Captain England’?” because in the Marvel universe, there actually is a Captain Britain

“2013. It’ll be a great day when all these leftists are fired”

and we can wear stuff like this

saw the whole Richard Blumenthal thing…sad, sad sad…

“I’ve always questioned the intelligence of the Paulies”

and thanks to your mentioning of the Paulies, I do as well

  8. Richmedia says:

@ILion: Milton Freidman was a Nobel Prize winning libertarian. You could say the same for the Austrian School, as exemplified by F. A. Hayek, who won the very first Nobel for Economics.

Please don’t paint all libertarians with a broad brush based on MSM nonsense, if that’s what happened here.
