Bonehead Of The Day

This is the lamest political excuse I’ve ever heard.

Marian Wang at the investigative news group ProPublica wondered if it is a coincidence that Republicans opposed to financial reform “suddenly” have plenty to say “about how troubling the porn problem at the SEC is.”

I guess Republicans probably have been barking up the wrong tree as there are liberals in this country who can appreciate and defend government use of harmless megabytes of porn on public property and time.

Look in the mirror, Bawney Fwank, *you’re* the real problem.

Can’t get rid of this bozo fast enough!

How in the world does this guy get elected? And maybe he should practice in front of a mirror before he says such idiotic things on TV. Oh wait, it was MSNBC, nobody saw it anyway.

  3. Nicolas says:

ok fantastic, thanks for the adjustment bob. Barney Frank can always be counted on to be a bonehead

I think Masturbation-gate should concern every civil servant and member of the public, regardless of their political affiliation.

That said, I believe the following statement by Rep. Waters is appropriate at this juncture.

    H.R. 2575—THE SECONDARY
    MORTGAGE MARKET ENTERPRISES
    REGULATORY IMPROVEMENT ACT

    Thursday, September 25, 2003
    U.S. House of Representatives,
    Committee on Financial Services

The last time I heard testimony from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac was May 16, 2000. As you know, I was a member of this distinguished committee when we enhanced the structure of these GSEs in 1992 to assure safety and soundness in particularly their housing mission.

Mr. Chairman, we do not have a crisis at Freddie Mac, and in particular at Fannie Mae, under the outstanding leadership of Mr. Frank Raines. Everything in the 1992 act has worked just fine. In fact, the GSEs have exceeded their housing goals.

A statement that shall forever exist in infamy. I wonder what Waters and Franks were doing while Fannie and Freddie were acting in their principle role to funnel trillions of dollars to markets abroad.

You know, for most government employees, I think I’d PREFER them to be looking at porn instead of doing their jobs. Especially say, all the IRS auditors…. *grin*

Can’t get rid of this bozo, period.

Where do you get access to all these great quotes? Maxine Waters is such a thick headed political hack. But the whole thing is a ship of fools when it comes to fiscal responsibility with the Dems in charge, and at least half the time it is underhanded dealings and kick backs, favors passed back and forth, and they are utterly guiless before the camaras passing the blame onto republicans. No Barne, the problem is not that we need you guys to regulate more, we need the SEC regulators in existence now to do their job, and we need people like you to keep their fingers out of the pie and off the scales.

A search engine (e.g., google) is only as effective as the search terms provided. The cases where people are able to maintain their composure while lying outright, are the easiest ones to remember. I happened to remember part of the quote, and was able to locate a credible source for it. I think the House’s .gov site is undeniably a credible source.

If they are ever held accountable, then we will have to thank them for contributing to their own downfall. It will be their own words and revelation of their true nature, which will provide the most damning evidence.

As for the Democrats and Republicans, it is the Democrats who are principally responsible. However, there are Republicans who, if not complicit, either enabled or contributed to the current situation. All people granted authority by the people must be held accountable. It is the burden of the people to provide oversight to the overseers.

That said, I think Gov. Christie, and now Gov. Brewer, are to be commended for their courage to demonstrate leadership, when so many others, especially the federal government, have failed miserably.
