A pilot program? A limited trial? Brilliant!
Of course, with the omniscient and omnipotent people in government, the future is readily predictable, and the resources, both human and natural, are unlimited. The consequences, as with previous social programs, are irrelevant, when the government has unlimited funds, and is supported by the selfish and vulnerable. All this when the civil servants are unwilling or unable to reform their own corruption.
It is telling that our civil servants do not even mention the hundreds of billions, if not trillions, of dollars in waste, fraud, and abuse present across the board, at all levels of government. They have been granted the authority and they have the AAA credit card, which they continue to abuse at will. They are the only people in our country, who are not readily held accountable for their incompetence, negligence, and criminal activities. The perpetual bureauracy grows, while the will of the people is managed and diminished.
Their policies are ineffective — often counterproductive — and unsustainable; but, as long as it feels good, who cares.
