Open Thread Sunday

It’s easy to be a self-described courageous politician when you’re talking about other people’s jobs…

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi urged her colleagues to back a major overhaul of U.S. health care even if it threatens their political careers, a call to arms that underscores the issue’s massive role in this election year.

“We’re not here just to self-perpetuate our service in Congress,” she said.

Privately, I wonder how many of her colleagues wish she’d speak for herself.

Nancy Pelosi may now consider herself safe because according to Rasmussen Reports,

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi remains the most well-known and least-liked congressional leader, but her numbers have improved this month as well.

Just 35% of voters nationwide share a favorable opinion of Pelosi, though that is the highest level measured since last May. Fifty-seven percent (57%) view Pelosi unfavorably, down from 63% in December.

It’s been rather difficult to find recent polling numbers from her San Francisco home turf, so it’s hard to know if she’s saying this out of convictions or because she feels her own butt is safe.

Let’s see how Speaker Pelosi feels should she ram through health care.

Two IPCC SREX Authors Discuss Inclusiveness

One of the report’s lead authors, Sabrina McCormick, responds to Revkin and justifies the IPCC’s empanelment decisions on her blog as follows:

The IPCC is not meant to be a reflection of the work and perceptions of the same scientists year after year. It is a living, breathing entity whose strength is partially derived from the new talent that is represented across disciplines and generations of researchers. One essential piece of that is drawing from a pool of researchers who are not all old white men or from particular disciplines. So, if certain stalwart scientists are passed up because there are new views on critical subjects, so be it. I respect their work and the many years they have devoted to this subject. Such contributions are not to be denied. However, neither are the bright, new ideas of scientists not traditionally involved in the IPCC, like sociologists such as myself. Maybe we have the answers to solve the most pressing problem of our time.

Now we know what the IPCC represents and their true concerns. It is not AGW/AGCC, or anything remotely related to weather, climate, or the Earth’s systems. It is all about a bunch of entitled, ego-driven “scientists” without integrity, political hacks, capitalists who are not capitalists unless it is their capital, and flat-worlder disciples, hoping to blaze their names in the annals of history and, especially, to enrich themselves through involuntary exploitation.

This is narcissism run amuck. I truly hate the NRO and their selective science, selective morality, and faith-based agendas. Just admit it, “atheists”, faux-agnostics, and pretenders of faith. You are members of a cult, promoting self-serving agendas, that are the will of your “elite” (in their own mind) masters and cronies. You have no clue, nor the integrity, to upheld the true spirit of science.

These people are morons of the first order. Enjoy your coffee while you can. Your ivory towers are coming down.

Obama phones Cheney after heart attack to wish him well

Seriously, though, a gesture this classy deserves some recognition.

    I agree.

They know; but, much like the Serbian war, they don’t care. There is a lot happening behind the scenes, both overtly and covertly, that they do not want to talk about. It would certainly undermine their message. Whatever that message happens to be this week. If nothing else, they are inconsistent.

Personally, I think they are more concerned about creating a new slush fund, than supporting their other talking points. Their partners in the MSM have been doing a superb job of hiding the truth or creating facts on the ground.

Now, let’s laugh while Pelosi preaches to her followers:

Try Not to Laugh Watching This Video of Nancy Pelosi

In the most unreported story this weekend is the fact that President Obama signed into law the extension of the Patriot Act.

Isn’t this the bi-partisanship the media and Democrats have been whining for?

Stand back and watch the fur fly when Obama’s political Left base finds out about it. Like it or not, believe it or not, we are at war. It was the right thing, and the adult thing, to do.

Nation of Islam Minister Farrakhan claims divine stature, predicts future troubles for Obama

Sorry, Al Gore-cle. The left-wing lunatics have found another prophet. Although, this one fancies himself a god. You will always be second, Al Gore-cle.

The 76-year-old leader said the “white right” was conspiring to make Obama a one-term president, and pointed to his stalled efforts to introduce health care legislation as proof.

Who is he referring to? The all white left, or the all white right? Since neither exists, does this mean that the mortal god, Farrakhan, will divine his delusions to make them real? The left-wing lunatics are well represented as they follow Al Gore-cle and the divine supremacist, Farrakhan, down the rabbit hole.

The members of the NRO, and especially their mortal gods, are insane.

I believe more every day, that “Americans following Obama” is the solution. Both to the AGW/AGCC deception, and every other problem stemming from the resurgence of mortal gods and their NRO. Eliminate the followers, and the mortal gods will perish. Well, maybe not “eliminate”. Either isolation or marginalization would be equally effective in extinguishing the influence of their cult.

Pelosi doesn’t care. All she cares about is her power play. She has enough money to live high on the hog for the rest of her life. She isn’t there to help or serve her Constituents. She is a power hungry & arrogant Majority Speaker of the House who has become corrupted by the power she holds over the US Citizen. She is a higher authority & knows what US Citizens need regardless of what they think. I think Obama’s arrogance is contagious, at least with her it is. She is every man’s nightmare at the very least. We have our own home-grown Terrorists, they lead both the House & Senate.

Geez, is she still pushing the medical insurance reform thing? She and her ilk really don’t care about health care reform. I suppose there is no slush fund to be found with healthy people.

My guess, is that the so-called “entitlement” funds (a.k.a., slush funds) have run dry, Timmy’s debt is not selling well, the collection agents are pounding on the door, and their supporters are getting antsy. Just how long will the castle walls resist the onslaught by their followers? Do they know who poses the greatest threat to their sovereign power? It is not Napolitano’s declared terrorist threat. Although, it may be a domestic contigency operation, lead by the delusioned followers of “hope and change”, otherwise known as “redistributive change”.
