I’ve got a little game of “Guess the political affiliation”!

Ok we all know what Party he’s in, but still…

Last fall, a woman went to court in the Bronx to testify that she had been violently assaulted by a top aide to Gov. David A. Paterson, and to seek a protective order against the man.

In the ensuing months, she returned to court twice to press her case, complaining that the State Police had been harassing her to drop it. The State Police, which had no jurisdiction in the matter, confirmed that the woman was visited by a member of the governor’s personal security detail.

  2. sebaird says:

Toyota…. Here in Japan, the nightly news has a question they keep pondering..

How come there are no acceleration or braking problems of note outside of the United States? Australia, Japan, and other locations where Toyota’s are made and sold are NOT having these types of issues. Why is the only place to have these problems the same place where the government has a stake in a competitor?

  3. fboiteau says:

    @sebaird:

Well there are also issues up here in Canada, but since we get our models from the US-based factories, that may explain it.

  4. The Machine says:

Gee, I wonder why someone named the animals, “killer” whales?

  5. fboiteau says:

    @MACHINE:

Indeed, while they are mammals (and aren’t even whales, but DOLPHINS), they are entirely carnivorous.

Also, I am opposed to these animals being in captivity in the first place.

There is very little scientific interest in keeping these animals in pools, but rather, economic interest in having people watch these things do tricks.

I went to Marineland when I was 14, and honestly I regret having been happy to have gone there. Seaworld is a glorified circus, nothing more.

At least, zoos have their conservation agenda and I think visitors would be appalled if they had lion tamers making the beasts sit on chairs and the like.

Every Central Falls [Rhode Island] teacher fired, labor outraged

The unions — not just the NEA — are on the march.

On a related note, I can’t believe that civil servants, teachers and others, are allowed to participate in unions. They are the only group who inherently do not pay any taxes. Just reduce their compensation, and stop pretending that they are taxpayers. They do potentially provide a valuable service; but, relative to our economy, they only consume and redistribute.

If they want to be considered as producers, then they need to compete as everyone else. It is past time for them to drop their long-standing pretense of being civil “servants”. This is true for all government employees, elected and otherwise. If they want to compete with the private sector, then their authority and wealth should be stripped. They have exceeded their mandate, and are now simply another for-profit business, with a AAA credit card, and monopoly power to determine the fate of their competition.

Students protest possible cuts in Jordan district

Since the term “redistributive change” has acquired a negative connotation, a replacement has been placed into service, “equalization”. Mass immigration of regressives (i.e., liberals, progressives) into Utah, is and will change the character of the state. It’s too bad they didn’t remain in their cesspools, reviewed and understood what they did wrong, before moving to another community and imposing their failed policies.

  7. n.n says:

An Examination of Minority Voters’ Views on Immigration

While it is sometimes assumed that minorities, particularly Hispanics, favor increased immigration and legalization for illegal immigrants, a new Zogby survey finds that minority voters’ views are more complex. The poll of Hispanic, Asian-American, and African-American likely voters finds some support for legalization. But overall each of these groups prefers enforcement and for illegal immigrants to return home. Moreover, significant majorities of all three groups think that the current level of immigration is too high.

Every American, white, black, Hispanic, Asian, et al, is racist!

When push comes to shove, people will stand against involuntary exploitation, especially their own.

Not surprisingly, when it comes to allowing more unskilled workers into the country, most Hispanic, Asian-American, and African-American voters feel there are plenty of Americans here to do such work; employers just need to pay more.

Competition is good for the entrepreneur and worker. So long as the workers realize how risk is distributed, and the entrepreneurs acknowledge that they could not do it alone.

  8. n.n says:

Calif. lawmakers: Cut the foul language, please

The California Assembly has passed a resolution that would establish the first week of March as “Cuss Free Week” throughout the state.

So, this is why people pay the big bucks. The state considers parents a source of revenue, and nothing else. Don’t worry, children, you will be next.

Can we agree that AGW/AGCC no longer poses an imminent threat to the viability of the Earth and its inhabitants?

I have changed my mind. The regressives (i.e., liberals, progressives) should submit to their “elite” masters, their mortal gods. They should submit and seek forgiveness for their self-imposed idiocy.

Bill Cosby was right! It starts at home. This should be obvious; but, apparently, it is not.

“Cash-strapped LA going after unlicensed dogs
    I don’t miss Los Angeles”

Houston is trying to get suburban vets to submit lists of Houston residents who have their pets treated outside of the city. Vets in the city already report on their clients. And, I thought Houston was a sanctuary city?

  10. Nicolas says:

“A shame eyewitness and police statements don’t match”

“Let the nationally televised talk down begin”

exactly, good way to describe it

“Face it, they will ram it down our throats, but will pay dearly in November”

it’s going to be a difficult year, but the November will be worth it

Olbermann: Palin & Other ObamaCare Critics are ‘Ghouls,’ ‘Fiends,’ ‘Subhumans,’ ‘Damns’ Them ‘to Hell’

those are pretty funny insults, but it would’ve been even FUNNIER if he’d have waited for October, Halloween and all. This is another case of “if you want to know what the left is guilty of being..listen to their insults of the right”

“I finally met Lloyd Marcus at CPAC. I hope to talk with him here soon”

that guy is absolutely amazing, a REAL American Treasure!

“Good things come to those who wait”

    2 words – Chuck Devore

“A plucked chicken is an uglier chicken”

    good one!

Bill to Grant Native Hawaiians Sovereignty Passes House

heard about that too, also heard a poll saying maybe just more than half REJECT the idea..but the DemoKKKrat house could potentially sadly pass it too..they really ARE trying to destroy this country..one state at a time…damn it!

“I guess it wasn’t so bad after all”

    no kidding

“Mass RINOs have mastered the art of Democrat brown-nosing”

somehow I get the feeling if Scott Brown REALLY lets us down in a huge, massive, legislative way..I get the feeling people will start to call him “Scott Brown-nose”

    “Those wacky Canadians”

    definite WTF moment..
