I guess it must take a smart person to watch Bill Maher’s show. I guess thats why so few people watch it.
Twice he has made fun of a child with Downs Syndrome, yet there has been no fallout from it.

It doesn’t take very long into the interview before Bill Maher starts to boil my blood. His comment about thinking it’s wrong to ‘use an army to fight terrorism’ what universe does Bill Maher live in? Bill I think it’s time for you to spend a month or two with the Marines on the ground in Afghanistan.
“Americans aren’t bright, just animals sensing strengths and weaknesses” Really Bill? How about the perspicacity of Americans to know the difference between a terrorist and a criminal and a sense of measured and appropriate justice. And did I just hear Bill Maher calling the United States Marine Corps a Socialist Institution? Fighting words Bill. Fighting words. Bill Maher, I’d like you to come visit the local VFW or American Legion and see how well that’s received.

So what Maher is saying is that HE’s an animal and only senses strength and weaknesses, hence the insults to people with Down’s syndrome. Kind of like how a lot of young punks who call women bitches are really just telling you about their mothers, aunts, and grandmothers.
So I’m listenting to this interview. Right at the part where he say’s they just aren’t bright enough to understand the issues, my liberal minded girlfriend says “what did he just say? Isn’t he an American?”
