that’s because its a low-budget Romero movie.

Just look at Night of the Living Dead, shot in black & white in a farmhouse and around it, using pigs intestines and other parts, corn syrup for blood, and a budget of around 40,000$ when it was made.

Still, it’s one of the best Zombie movies ever made. (I still prefer Dawn of the Dead – his version, not the 2007 remake, although it’s good)

Though, visually, the gore (and the humping) being explicitly shown is certainly ’70s or later.

Just hearing the voices and seeing the graphics, I’d have put that in the late ’50s to early ’60s.

But then, I suspect that my cultur-chronometer is off.
