As a longtime fan of George Romero, this one has raised curiosity.
The Crazies (2010)
As a toxin begins to turn the residents of Ogden Marsh, Iowa into violent psychopaths, sheriff David Dutton (Olyphant) tries to make sense of the situation while he, his wife (Mitchell), and two other unaffected townspeople band together in a fight for survival. Directed by Breck Eisner
However, originals do have their old school innocence and charm….
The Crazies (1973)
A biological weapon gone awry is only the start of problems in the little town of Evan’s City, Pennsylvania. Bouts of insanity in the populace are leading to murder and rioting, until the US Army turns up – and things really start going to hell. Directed by George Romero
So seventies.

@Ilion:
that’s because its a low-budget Romero movie.
Just look at Night of the Living Dead, shot in black & white in a farmhouse and around it, using pigs intestines and other parts, corn syrup for blood, and a budget of around 40,000$ when it was made.
Still, it’s one of the best Zombie movies ever made. (I still prefer Dawn of the Dead – his version, not the 2007 remake, although it’s good)
Though, visually, the gore (and the humping) being explicitly shown is certainly ’70s or later.
Just hearing the voices and seeing the graphics, I’d have put that in the late ’50s to early ’60s.
But then, I suspect that my cultur-chronometer is off.
