Quotes Of The Day

Our parents told us if you tell the truth, you never have to worry about getting your story straight….

White House advisers appearing on the Sunday talk shows gave three different estimates of how many jobs could be credited to President Obama’s Recovery Act.

The discrepancy was pointed out by a Republican official in an email to reporters noting that “Three presidential advisers on three different programs [gave] three different descriptions of the trillion-dollar stimulus bill.”

Valerie Jarrett had the most conservative count, saying “the Recovery Act saved thousands and thousands of jobs,” while David Axelrod gave the bill the most credit, saying it has “created more than — or saved more than 2 million jobs.” Press Secretary Robert Gibbs came in between them, saying the plan had “saved or created 1.5 million jobs.”

Without the hubris they all came into town with, discrepancies could have been written off as simple rhetorical symbolism that a lot of jobs were created. But seeing how we were told they were the best and the brightest, mistakes like these show them as the fuck ups they are since their Recovery.gov site can’t give an accurate count.

Obviously, the Democrats’ post-Massachusetts-special election topic will be jobs, but just because the administration says they were created, doesn’t make it so.

These three stooges were just delivering spin, and our parents would have only one assessment of people who can’t get their stories straight.

  2. Jan says:

Funny oxymoron, lower taxes and more revenue is created….hence, more tax coming in. Less control, but more money. Damn, what do do the Dems want?

  3. cmjcex says:

Come on, everybody! Just do the simple math. $786 billion divided by 1.5 million jobs works out to $524,000 per job.

Typical lies about typical government results in spending tax (or deficit) dollars wisely.

  4. Igor says:

Geez, just have the Gubmint send me half of the money they would ordinarily “save a job” with, and I could start my own business and hire at least two more people that would PAY taxes instead of sucking off the Gubmint teat.

Nah. Too simple. The concept is FAR beyond any liberal’s way of thinking, though. Ain’t gonna happen…
